College degree or not, what field would you go into in today's world?

I would do the same exact thing, I would have just told myself to start my business by 30 instead of 40.

Trade, plumbing, HVAC, electric, etc.

The Navy. It’s relatively untouched by the enemy, great benefits and I’d be on 100% disability due to headaches and needing contacts in addition to my Navy retirement by now. I talk to way too many former military folks who are on total disability due to common stuff everyone has and they are making $70k a year just sitting back collecting disability and retirement at age 40. Ridiculous but it makes me jealous

I would be a Home builder contractor.
I actually enjoy doing contractor jobs around my house and project managing. I self contracted my house build years ago and actually enjoyed the process.
but I do enjoy what I do as well so who knows.

I probably would have went medical field.
Some of these variations of nurses get paid doctor money now.
You could have a 4 day work week and make 100k+ with extreme stability.
I like what I do but the deadlines and constant issues in building can be ridiculously stressful and it never turns off. I was suppose to have set of trusses drop yesterday on this job and they got delayed a week. So I spend the next 3 hours at home trying to reschedule all of my trades to still hit the closing date.
I was still working and my kids went to bed. I bet nurses are coming home checking charts and shite.

I would like to change my answer. Any govt job. High pay, huge pension, no work.

I definitely wouldn’t waste time with a mass comm undergrad

Medical. Mainly physical therapy, rehab.

If I could go back in time I would stay my 20-30 in the military. Would have retired by 38 (or 48 if I did 30). Either way it would have been a young retirement. Plus I would have been around my boys everyday.

Same thing, just went to trade school 8 years prior at 19 when my mom tried to help me get going. I did learn a lot of life skills in those 8 years though. I would’ve also went back to school sooner than 2 years ago

From someone who made a big career change in his 30s, I would do what I am doing now just start a lot earlier.
