1979 and 1980 Jesuit early 90s ESJ, 83 Nish
But if Catholic ends the year with only two losses and one of those losses being out of state I would have to imagine their season is up there

Living here that entire time, the holdbacks are usually 3-4% of the total class…if that honestly. The most I remember in the hay day of holdbacks was 22 and that was in the 90s. It’s been much less prevalent since the rule changed to you must hold back prior to 6th grade. Now that it changed again, we will have to see where it goes from here.
Did the parents get together to do it? Did Shows originally approach the town and tell people this is what we need to do?
I’m truly curious how it starts

Yea used to be a big deal, for over a decade I haven’t seen it mentioned except on here with people whining every year in the baseball thread.

ea used to be a big deal, for over a decade I haven’t seen it mentioned except on here with people whining every year in the baseball thread. because most thought the pushing the hb grade back did away with it - but it didn’t in fact kids could still get medical waivers to hold back after.

Curtis was the only school I know that had a significant hold back program

I can prove you wrong on 98 team by a long shot

You don’t need any medical stuff, just have to hold the kid back in elementary before this year. Now it’s back to just can’t turn 19 before senior year, can hold back in 8th grade again as far as I know.

The ones that were still doing it after when it was pushed back-

Maybe in Jefferson parish but keep in mind most kids doing at no Catholic schools were doing it where cheaper or no tuition was involved prior to 8th grade.
Leonard fournette was a holdback

What chance does Barbe have against WM? Arent they out of pitching?
Posted on 5/9/24 at 9:52 pm to dallastiger55
Na barbe has Littleton the big freshman left and Owen galt they can throw. Diego is burned, JD is injured and can only hit and bellard got his hand broken again in the Mandeville series when he was hit by pitch in the hand he had just gotten healed.
But Littleton is a stud. Might not be as good as what WM is throwing but barbe always has a chance.

Fergie went CG tonight. So WM has everyone else. I’m sure it’ll be LSU commit Bradyn Cupit. Lefty that sits 91 or so.
