Look at congress, Republicans can’t get anything pass because their own members constantly votes against what the base wants. Then the moment Dems write up a bill republicans magically jump out to support it and get it passed.

The Senate is even worse, they are peak uni-party and don’t even want to pretend they support the base.

Too much infighting the old GOP knows their time is done so they are adamant on sinking the party out of spite and fatten their pockets before they disappear forever. This will continue to be the issue until all the old guard is gone. Any republican that was elected before 2018 has to be voted out to much swamp arse.

You had a guy that was willing to be Trump lite with an actual conservative record that did everything that you could ever dream of doing and people were allowed to be gaslit by influencers

So we will all now thrive or die on the Trump vine. I hope he can get those GOPe in line or we’re all cooked.

They won by over 8% Republicans keep crying about mail in ballots instead of playing their game. What’s more effective crying or overwhelming them with GOP mail in ballots to Dems now think it’s bad for them and needs to be stopped.

GOP is the crybaby party

Republicans keep losing elections because the base isn't near enough people to win.

Couple that with the organization and ground game of the opponents and they get waxed

Trump is a civilian and even when he was president the party constantly ignored him and did what they wanted.

This is republican leadership that has been around since Bush who are constantly sabotaging their own party then hide in the dark.

Is "the base" even really discernible at this point?

They keep listening to the likes of Frank Luntz and Karl Rove who tell them the base (people who believe in America First) are the extreme wing of the party; just look at the article I posted the other day about Garrett Graves. They cannot be further from the truth.

Do you think it's not seriously in flux at this moment?

Quit making excuses, they lose elections cause they suck - this whole crying about “rigged” election bs is tired, played out, and doesn’t help the conservative cause

Republicans would hold every seat in Congress, the presidency, and all 50 governors if it weren't for those pesky rigged elections

I do. You are a republican and so am I. We are probably growing to be as different as night and day.

There are a lot of independents out there. If you take half the republicans and add them to the independents you will get somewhere. Parties have faded away in the past in this country.

You believe this. There are almost as many independents in the country as republicans. Republican candidates have to grab some independents.

What's this referencing? Where are you headed?

My principles have been rather steady for 30 years or so. My only wavering, I would venture, has been becoming increasingly MORE (not less) weary of foreign entanglements than maybe I used to be.
