Looks like people are becoming frugal. Starts at 24K with good gas mileage.

When I bought my ranger I was originally planning on getting a Maverick. It would have taken 6 months to get one, though.

That’s ok. My 2013 Tacoma will still be turnin’ and burnin’ when all these Ford “Mavericks” are on the scrap heaps.

They should have called it the Ford Shetland Pony or after a car that caught on fire if you hit the rear gas tank.

Nothing says burning up down the highway like a Ford Pinto.

I like the trucks. A friend of mine bought one. He has two small kids so it works great for them. He doesn't do hunting or much offloading so the bed works great for him.

I have a Ford Maverick and I love it. No hybrid for me. Turbo charged gasoline. I got the XLT with the luxury package and the blind spot indicator system. I drove off the lot for $27,500 including tax, title and license. You cannot find that now.
Those are two different types of vehicles. The Mavericks weren’t built to pull much weight plus they are unibodies. It’s basically a Bronco Sport with a truck bed.

Well when a the price of a small truck is the same as a full sized truck 10 years ago. And economies of scale have not changed that much in relation to car payments, people are going to go with a cheaper truck because they can still only afford X per month.

Nobody with the right financial sense, unless you are baller rich, is wanting to plop a grand a month in car payments. Then add increased insurance costs and higher interest rates. People are going to go with the cheaper but smaller option.

My wife wanted one of the new Mavericks. Thought it was "cute". The wait was too long. Thankfully she decided to get the Mazda CX-30. So far that has been a great car for her.

Baws need to have SUPER DUTY embossed into their trucks in 73 different places. The Maverick doesn’t have that.

"Ford Maverick Sales Explode In January, Outsells Toyota Tacoma"

Simple explanation: The 24 Tacoma is a new body style so, production of the 23 stopped late last year to sell them down. Dealers were out of inventory while they waited for the 24 to arrive.
