Any reservation town. Crow Agency, for example.

As I was reading through the list this was the place that came to mind.

Yeah, they were worse than old dying Southern towns in many ways, because there never was a better time. Just misery.

Felsenthal, AR, north of Monroe. Saw people living in Home Depot type sheds and school busses. The town motel was a rotting caboose.

I was stationed at Edwards AFB so any town in the Mojave Desert…Boron, Mojave, Barstow, Baker, etc. Also my hometown of Bogalusa is very depressing.

Ville Platte is a third world country.

I'd say Yazoo City or Iuka Mississippi.

Yeah, I wouldn’t exactly call the area around Camp Pendleton depressing.

Greenville is shite. Greenwood is good if you like small towns.

The crown jewel of the USMC.

29 Palms, well not so much.

My vote is my hometown, Opelousas, LA. Most of you from Louisiana know about the plight of Opelousas

I grew up there and while it is a shithole it is not nearly the most depressing town in Louisiana.

It was either Greenwood or Greenville or something like that, in Mississippi.

Greenville

I live in Greenwood. We have our problems for sure, but there is still a large neighborhood within the city limits populated by a strong middle class with a good bit of upper class/old money sprinkled throughout. It also has a strong and safe little downtown. It needs another restaurant or two in that immediate downtown area around the Alluvian Hotel, but the shopping is solid. Being locals, instead of going to Giardina’s (restaurant in the Alluvian) much, we’ll go eat at the bar that connects to Giardina’s every couple months or so and it’s always interesting how many people from Louisiana and Arkansas are in town for the weekend. Viking Cooking School is a big draw.
