I mean, this is news to nobody.

People do their hometown MG over New Orleans because of all the extra work involved in going out there from out of town.

Crime, overpriced hotel IF you can even get a hotel, no way to get across town without sitting in an Uber for an hour+, walking walking and more walking otherwise, nowhere to pee unless you pay for something with bathroom access (and likely has a long line) or have a friend with it, etc.

I probably haven't been to a Mardi Gras parade in 10 years and have no immediate plans to ever go again

I don’t get why anyone over the age of 25 would bother with Mardi Gras unless they have access to a house on or *just* off the route

The only reason I've been to some past the age of 30 was to bring the kids. I haven't been to a Nola parade since my early 20s.

Have you ever heard of this place called Rio de Janeiro?

New Orleans is drunken cesspool of filth.

We have different tastes. I much prefer the Mamou style Mardi Gras.

Agree. Some places do other things better, but Mardi Gras isn’t it. I wonder why they are even trying bc it’s silly.

Mardi Gras was fun through college. Now it’s just a pain in the arse. Despite having access to houses on routes and parking, I would rather just go out of town with the family Friday through Wed.

so nobody else should have mardi gras because NOLA has the most Krewes?

what kind of dumbass take is that?

and Mardi Gras is celebrated differently all over the state. Many of them are much more family oriented than the filth that NOLA puts out.

but hell Rio does Mardi Gras way better than NOLA, Nola is silly for even trying.

Way to go, man.

You retards are the world champions of an obscure holiday.

Now take your faggy umbrella, go second line somewhere, and frick off.

Have you actually ever been to Mardi Gras in NOLA? You sound like one of the people who have never been and assume the parades go down Bourbon street and it's only drunk people in the Quarter. 99% of Mardi Gras happens outside of the Quarter and is actually a very family friendly block party type experience.
