How dare fans be frustrated after 4 years of him not being on the court.

There are reasons to have been displeased with Zion, but when he’s on the court and playing well, he’s pretty special.

Who knew a 280lb point guard would work but here we are

I think the better way to look at Zion is if he has met expectations and that is why the trade chat is on and off every year.
Let's see how he does tonight. The potential is still there and that is why he has his contract. Im still reserved until he puts the time in and execute a jumper mixed in.

We absolutely should have traded him last year. He is a solid player but has been overvalued by our front office for three years and oft injured.
The rest of the NBA now knows and his future is now hinged on his success here. That’s our one hope that he no longer has the demand that CP3 and AD had when they were top 5 players.

Even if you wanted to trade him which Im not completely against- his value was complete garbage last year due to his injury issues. If anything if he plays a whole season and the playoffs he likely has increased his value especially with his contract which is reasonable.

We probably could have gotten KD. That may have been our best option.

I don’t think that rumor had any legs. KD didn’t even want to come here.

Did he finish the season already?

Don’t mind Tommy. He’s drunk on jizz.

No way he is 280. He is closer to 300.

Trading him made no sense, but fans’frustration was understandable. When he’s healthy
and focused, he’s amazing.

I still remember the dumbasses who wanted to not only trade Zion for Scoot but thought it wasn’t enough to get him and were eager to give up even more to get the deal done. Looking back I have no idea why Scoot was rated so highly. An undersized point with absolutely zero jumper that is barely a better athlete than someone like Hawk. Portland fricked up big time not trading that pick. They could have gotten a good player and Dame would have stayed.

I think many people myself included and other draft experts expected his athleticism to be much better than what hes shown - why there were comparisons to westbrook. To be fair he was holding his own against Wemby and showed that athleticism in the gleague. That obviously is not the case and again a trade Im glad Griff didn’t pull the trigger on.

It's all based on physical profile and system. He has to be in the right place to develop. Plus some people take time.
I was a huge Suggs person. I wanted us to go get him so badly. But has been seen as a bust after 2 bad years. That's not the case anymore, as he's seen as a rising star as a defender. He's only 22. But most people gave up on him.
Odds are Henderson turns it around becomes at least a solid rotation player. Funny part about this thread, 2 games after, Zion with a monster game in a loss, then we beat down a team while he sits..

He isn’t getting any taller or more athletic than he is now. Not to mention his jumper is gonna take years to develop to even average by the way most players improve if it ever does. All the guards that are his size are very good shooters (FVV, Brunson, Garland, Trae and Dame)

You really have to go and look at the numbers for rookie PGs, especially those put on really bad teams. Most struggle a lot at first. Henderson basically has the same stats as Garland did his rookie year, with slightly worse shooting numbers. I haven't watched him a ton but I know he has had promising stretches. He was supposed to be a strong distributor and defender. He still has that potential..
