Bingo, Bango, Bongo
Each hole there’s 3 bets. We usually played .50 or $1 per bet
Bingo - first to the green
Bango - closer to the hole once everyone reaches the green
Bongo - first to hole out
This game helps if there’s a mixture of talent. Good golf may reach the green in two, but the lesser golf may take him 3 shots but he reaches the green first on his 3rd shot. He wins that. From there it’s all short game.

While I think it's a good idea for a wide range of golfers, it has never worked for us in practice. Ready golf is pretty important when you have a few high handicaps playing. So, it was tough to follow the next player out order.

We play flip often
Group of 5 usually but can do with however many
Everyone flips a coin and its heads vs tails
If it is 1 V all others then the single only needs to tie the big team to win half the pot
If everyone flips the same then the pot doubles for that hole and you reflip
We also play scotch pretty often
6 points per hole
Usually 2 v 2 teams
1 point for team with closest to hole in regulation
1 point for lowest total number of putts per team
1 point if team birdies
1 point if for team with lowest individual score
2 points for lowest combined team score
If one team wins all of the points then it is called an umbrella and that team wins 12 points instead of 6

I assume that means lowest scoring player on Team A through 12 holes plays low score on Team B.
This is correct. Player A from one team plays Player A from the 2nd team. Player B from one team plays Player B from the other team.
Team 1 - Jimmy - 56 through 12 holes; Billy - 60 through 12 holes
Team 2 - Bob - 65 through 12 holes; Jamal - 70 through 12 holes
The last 6 holes would be Jimmy v Bob ; Billy v Jamal. We play full HDCP as well.

We have played something similar called Umbriago. At least, that was the name they used in the Tourist Sauce Scandinavia video where they played it. Instead of 6 points, it's just 4 with low individual, low aggregate, birdie, and closest to the pin. Sweeping all 4 doubles to 8.

Got it now. I like that game. Might have to copy it.

It's a great game to play, once you explain it to your buddies they'll roll their eyes and say it's too complicated (like mine did) but once you start playing it into the combined score 6-holes, they'll be hooked.

If you ever get around to playing it, respond back to this thread and let me know how it went! You could mix up the 6s as well, the reason we put the individuals on the last 6 is that you can lose every hole up to hole 13 and then if a miracle happened and the losing team won every hole 13-18 (2 points each) that the game would be a wash.
My friends all want to keep their score but I would love to have a Best Ball, Scramble, Alternate shot 6s as well.

Snake is the best for everyone regardless of handicap.

I plan to suggest it next time we get a foursome in our group. I like how you set it up exactly. The only thing I may add to it is double points for gross birdies.

I'm like your friends. My goal is to play every other week, but it's tough with young kids. So, when I have the chance to play, I want to play my own ball. If I played weekly, I think throwing a scramble in would be fun.

Wolf. The last player to tee off in a foursome picks a partner after the first three have hit. Or, he can choose to be wolf and play alone against the other three players. Losing team pays the winning team. If wolf wins, he collects from each player. If he loses, he must pay each player.

If we have 8, we play skins, sandies. and snake.
If we only have 4, we play Wolf, birdies, snake and sandies.
If we play Lone Wolf, the first players has to hit and declare lone wolf. The bet then doubles including carry over holes.

Are you talking about on course or off the course games?

I am playing High Meadow Ranch on Saturday in Houston. The course is set up as three 6 hole loops rather than front and back. It sets up perfectly to play your game with 3 different games each 6 holes. I plan to suggest it to the group.

Interesting setup. Never seen a course setup like that.

The scorecard is still two nines, but the layout is 3 distinct loops. You're not close to the clubhouse after 9.

i was three-putting too much so i came up with a game we called swear jar
it is simple and easy to track.
every putt after your second is worth $1 or whatever you want to do. So if you 3 putt, $1 goes into the pot. 4 putt $2, and on.
End of the round the person with the least three putts wins the pot.
play for $10 a putt on a foursome of shitty putters and the pot will be a nice chunk of change

That's pretty good. It sounds similar to snake, but the winner is more deserving than the loser of snake. With snake, some poor guy could be having the round of his life, reaches a par 5 in 2 on the last hole but has a 50 ft putt, and eventually has to pay all the guys that were 3 putting all round.
