Guy just had 28, 6 and 7 at Boston, and 26 and 6 in only 27 minutes two nights before against the Bucks. I seriously wonder sometimes

And when we beat the Clips to get into the IST quarterfinals he had 30, 4 and 5 on 12-21 shooting. He sucked like every single Pel did against the Clips on Jan. 5. He sucked like every single Pel did when the Lakers killed us in Vegas. Then on NYE he had 26, 5 and 8 on 10-18 shooting. I guess those teams only tried and played defense those two games where he sucked.

BI’s agent right here. His stats are empty. Look at his crunch time stats. He can’t close out games against meaningful opponents.

After he made two in a row he was in obligatory heat-check mode.. which is shoot til you miss

Didn't matter if Zion Williamson or Michael Jordan was in there with BI....

In the third, he nailed 2 straight threes. The next possession, BI specifically passed it back to Jose to initiate. He then ran from the left corner to the right corner and finally ended up nailing a late three on a dish.

Imagine still complaining about a guy who just did that…

No one is complaining. People are simply asking how can he do this against better competition when the stakes are higher. That’s the frustration about BI. You know he’s got the ability but he just goes missing at times.

I think opponent matters less than his own desire to either a) get to the rim more consistently on a game-to-game basis or b) shoot 3s. Ability is there regardless of opponent.

He averaged 27 points, 6.2 rebounds and 6.2 assists on 47.5% FG, 40.7% from 3 and 83% FT against the Suns in the playoffs.

Per 36 he’s been:

23.2, 6.1, 5.4
26, 6.1, 5.8
24, 6.2, 5.9
24.9, 5.1, 5.1
25.3, 6.5, 4.4

In his 5 years with the Pelicans. He’s literally been one of the most consistent players in the league.

Get out of your feelings. Zion still could be our best player. BI still is our best player.

I agree. So is it a scheme issue? Does he need to play off ball more and come off screens? I feel like the defenses get more physical he doesn’t want to work to get open.

BI has played well against good teams. Frustrated fans have selective memory.

The Pelicans have a losing record in games that BI has played over his career as a Pelican. They have an even worse record in close games. It isn't selective memory. He is capable of performances like last night. He just doesn't do it consistently enough, which is mostly because he chooses to have a shot chart that leads to inefficiency. He is 8 years into his career. It hasn't changed yet. He took 11 3 pointers last night, in his previous SEVEN games he took 22.

Our organization sure feels that way. Until that changes, we will be married to the middle of the pack. That's what happens when one time all stars are treated as the best player.

Full disclosure: Ingram is a good NBA player. He is not a number 1 player on a team with any expectations. This organization has miscast him and that is the reason that he receives the amount of criticism he does on this board. Most of us have no doubt that he will be getting the max and that would be something that hamstrings the organization going forward. I really, really hope he starts shooting more threes and can play with Zion moving forward.

If he gets up 6-7 threes a night, almost all the BI slander will disappear.

^^^ This

BI's 2 best games were the games he simply shot more 3's. At this point I'm OK with the growing pains of (1/7) 3pt games if he is trying to do it consistently.

The frustration is that he may have 18 points next game and shoot (2) 3's. Unless Zion/ CJ/ Trey are having a crazy game that can't happen "consistently".

The fear is that BI gets his 45-50 mil and continues taking mid range. We just need him to shoot 3's several games in a row and people will calm down.

Ah yes, the team lost and it’s all one players fault.

The Pels are 26-20 this season with Bi, and 78- 68 over the last three seasons. Much of which was without Zion on the court, and even more with Zion nearly unplayable.

Against the top 4 teams in each conference BI is averaging 21 pts, 4 rbs, 5 asts, and 3 turns on 48.9 shooting from the field and 29% from three. That's 14 games, and the Pels are 6-8 in those games (they also played OKC minus BI to start the season so they're 7-8 in total). They actually started the season 7-3 against those top eight teams but they've lost the last five against them.

For comparisons sake he's averaging 22 pts in all other games on 50% from the field and 40% from the three. 5
