Brian Kelly said in press conferences that the third year of his tenure will be special. Historically Brian Kelly’s 3rd year at all of his schools not including grand valley.
Central Michigan: 9-4 motor city bowl win
Cincinnati: 12-1 sugar bowl loss
Notre Dame: 12-1 national championship loss
This year will be a good year if history repeats itself

Defense will prevent this team from making a run

The thing is that people will make posts like this and then get mad when someone says we underachieved later in the season.

I'm gonna have a hard time complaining if LSU makes it through potentially an SEC championship, 2-3 playoff teams, and loses in the national championship.

There will be plenty of idiots that do complain, but I won't be one of them.

I believe they will be better on defense but don’t look for Baker to be the second coming. Having a D-line coach will keep us competitive and get some much needed stops early in games. Understanding what the opponent was trying to do is what we were missing there last year. It actually could be a special year if we can hold SEC teams to 30 or less this year.

How do you know it's the same people?

Technically BK had left for ND by the time Cincy played in that Sugar Bowl. But I don't think it would have mattered who was on the sidelines that game, that Cincy team wasn't beating 2009 UF in Tebow's final game.

Well then you are one of the losers that like to settle for second place. Congratulations!
