Some coaches will do anything to avoid having to play LSU in Tiger Stadium.

This is part of exodus of coaches due to NIL and portal.

Just this week you saw Kentucky OC, BC HC and now Kelly bolt for the NFL.

Pate said this is only the beginning. I can’t imagine my own players asking for raises all the time.

There isn't an infinite amount of jobs in the NFL. Not a ton have the ability to leave.

But there is a serious NCAA issue. Unfortunately, I don't think it can be fixed by the NCAA. They will get demolished in court. There will need to be a new governing body before anything can settle in any sort of middle ground.

Can someone pretend I’ve been under a rock for a couple of years.

Why do coaches even have to involve themselves in this? Can’t players just hire agents to pimp themselves out?

they could be 100 percent removed. Yet 100% negatively impacted.

It’s not just asking for raises, NFL players do that also. It’s that your players can leave the program and show up on the opponents sideline at a moments notice.

Recruiting is now 24/7 365 for High School, Your own roster, and your opponents roster. Zero off season for coaches.

NFL coaches have almost 3 months where they have little to no responsibilities.

UCLA football has basically been an afterthought in So Cal for many years. Los Angeles is a USC town. That’s just how it is. Beating the Bruins in football is nothing to brag about. LSU will win easily at Tiger Stadium.

College has no contracts and no consequences. Just continuous never ending free agency. It has become a nightmare for coaches. Becoming harder and harder to field a good team with any quality depth. Expect more coaches to bail.

You are getting downvoted but it’s a good point.

The way NIL is SUPPOSED to work is entirely independent and has nothing to do with the school and no one from the school should be involved

But that not reality. And no matter what anyone says, it’s all pay for play. So coaches will have a say.

Yep. But this problem isn’t an NIL problem. It’s a transfer portal problem.

Fix that and most NIL issues would go away.

The nil is ruining college athletics as well as that stupid transfer portal.

Doesn’t want to take that quick Friday afternoon flight to Pennsylvania for a Saturday game.

The exact same thing was said when LSU went to Pasadena in 2021.

Limit players to using the transfer portal one time. If they want to transfer again they will have to follow the old rules and sit out a year.

The NCAA can't enforce that. They tried. The courts ruled that players could transfer as much as they want.
