Oh I’m with you I have 3 kids. If they want to farm, I’ll be happy if they want to be something else other than a farmer I would be even more happier.
Farming is a good business. Lots of money to be made and young people aren't getting into it. Believe me, I know.
You're kids might one day wish they had. In fact, they probably will.

But farmers are all rich they don’t ever lose money that’s impossible according to Pandy…….
I never said that and I didn't say they were all rich but if you show me a poor or middle class farmer, then I'll show you someone who's probably doing it wrong.

Like I said idk how they do it in Colorado, that might be the case up there but I know in Louisiana there are some older farmers that have done well for themselves, but the younger farmers are most middle class and one bad year can ruin a lot of guys including myself.

I honestly didn’t know farmers bitch that much.
But I think it’s personal for you. A lot of people bitch about their jobs. In the normal world I don’t notice them bitching anymore than anyone else, but I’m not kin to farmers.

You seem like a good dude. But do you really know there's alot of money to be made? Have you priced seed, chemical, fertilizer? Equipment cost, labor cost paired with labor shortage. 100% increase in parts.
Have you called local elevators to check basis price?
Intrest rate on farm loans?
You mention corn ground in CO so I'll use corn as an example.
Dec. Corn is 4.79 a bushel. Local elevator basis average is -.30.
My county aph is 191bu/ per acre. My own aph is 195-200 depending on farm.
Inputs average for corn in my area is 940.00 per acre
That means breakeven is 209bu per acre. Is that yield doable? Some fielda yes, most others no. Can you average that across alot of acres? Probably not. Please explain what you know so I can use that to make money. Bass boats don't pay for themselves

What's the reason you don't farm your family ground? Don't like being rich?

I don't like farming. But the fact of the matter is this. If you're a professional farmer. If you farm for a living and you're not in the upper middle class or greater income range, then something's wrong man.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but man just because “your family has farmland” you can’t say well if your not an upper class farmer something’s wrong. That’s just flat out wrong. There’s so many variables that have to go right to make a profit, alot of those variables out of the farmers hands. I consider myself lucky if I make a profit every year. Mother Nature is the ultimate decider on profits more times that not. The farmer can do everything right and Mother Nature can come in and wipe it out. That’s the case for all over the US not just Louisiana btw.

I think we should all focus our anger and attention towards something more important and something we can all get behind.

as stated earlier....go grow your own food, then.
Any money you spend on food you didn't grow goes to the farmer...which makes you part of your problem.
