The rehab hospital services. I compete with other rehab hospitals in the area for patients. For example, I have a quota of 20 patient admits a month. Once I get a patient referral from a hospital, i do a bedside visit, then I have to get their chart and write up the evaluation for my medical team to treat when we get them over to us. That usually takes anywhere from 3 hours to 3 days depending on their insurance and how sick they are.
I didn’t know this was a thing. Not really sure how much I like it now that I know.

How stressful is your job? - Depends on the day/time of year.
How many years did it take to start earning six figs? 7 years
How many hours do you work on average per week? 40 plus or minus 10
Does your job often cut into personal/family time? The nature of the beast is getting a few outside of business hours calls/requests, previous role this was constant... current role say 3 nights a week for an hour or two at a time.
Are you “happy” overall with your job? It's ok, better then sitting at a desk, better then working on a jobsite in the elements.
Any suggestion on what sort of company/role to look for for someone looking to start a career in sales? find a product and industry you are passionate about, decide if you want to be inside or outside sales...Also be willing to learn a lot very quickly. Live and Die by your network.

This boards most hated product, insurance. I’m an agency owner and I have 5 employees who also sell. That renewal comp is the key

I work in software sales (tech companies, B2B). It's not stressful day to day but if you go on a dry streak for a few months you can get fired so you do have to constantly be in motion.
There are people making six figures 3 years out of college for 20-30 hour weeks.
I work 20-30 hours per week.
My job does not interfere with personal time.
I'm fairly happy with my job as it's all results driven and pays extremely well for the amount of work. I've also got a good product in a good territory with a team I like.
There are hundreds if not a few thousand companies that hire entry level business development roles that will pay 80-90k to someone with no experience who is willing to work. I got the guy that cuts my hair with no degree into this. It only goes up from there once you get into closing roles.
This is very similar to my experience. Thankfully we have a great product and good support, implementation team. It is stressful though because like you said if you go on a dry spell you can get let go with swiftness
Even a business development rep which basically just prospect and sets up meetings can make damn good money right out of college with just average work ethic. Some of them are so damn lazy though

Sales of anything is a bugzapper career for the lazy and unmotivated.

Encompass, or a nonprofit system? Medicare Advantage plans have made your life more difficult the past few years.

Funny, I feel the same way about plant work in LA and they don’t make nearly as much.

I've known people who were natural born salesmen
My grandfather could sell ice to the Eskimos. I have a cousin who inherited his sales ability and is wildly successful. As for me, whenever we had school fundraisers I would pay for the crap out of my allowance so I wouldn't have to go around selling it.

Yeah I posted in a Money Talk thread about how much insurance salesmen can make. People didn’t seem to believe it.

They either don’t want to believe it or they know someone in insurance sales and they don’t make money. The reality is there’s a huge difference between an agency owner and a w-2 employee of an agency that also sells insurance. They all get lumped in as insurance agents but they aren’t comparable in pay.

I hate to tell you but if you are asking these kind of questions you probably don’t need to be in sales. What are you good at is the first question you ask yourself. I can tell you this find what you are good at and get great at it and you’ll be a supper successful guy.
Sales is hard work, stressful, you have to work as many hours as it takes, it affects you like 24/7 but if you like people and like solving problems you’ll love your job.
Great sales people are in control however and determine their own destiny. It’s true freedom and self determination. Only job I’ve ever had.
