What true super star is even available?

I don't really remember a time when there were this few sellers or disgruntled stars.
Maybe the play-in has changed the dynamic.
I really can't think of one needle-moving player available.
Sure, you can get dudes like Lavine, maybe Julius Randle, but what's that do for you?
I'm not sure Minnesota would be all that sad to get rid of KAT. But again, not a needle mover.
Maybe Mitchell forces his way out next year. Doubt he's interested in coming here though.
Luka might get antsy if they flame out again maybe.
Would the kings move Sabonis or Fox if they don't do anything?
Bridges? But now we're really outside of true superstar. He's nice but not great.
Who else? Griff really has a tough job trying to improve the team.
Going to have to find a guy who isn't great "yet". Again not sure who.
Just throwing out names.
Ivey
Kessler
Jaquez

Pels could have had a few, but Griff likes picks over players.

Markaneen and Bridges are guys that I could see being fits that are elite pieces that are not superstars.
I would think we could get interest with BI, another role player, and picks.

Yeah at this point we’d need to attach other assets with BI to get that caliber of player which is kind of crazy. Not sure how we can realistically go after these guys. Teams aren’t giving up valuable players… in hindsight we should have traded everything for Halliburton. I imagine BI + Dyson + 3-4 picks would have done it? That’s the move you make but you have to see more than other teams.
ETA: At this point our best bet imo is to load up on draft picks and assets. Trade BI for a package centering around a few FRPs. Try and get some more. Keep playing the lottery to find a star. That’s our only bet at this point. Halliburton was late lottery.

LeBron was right about BI. I hate that it’s true.

In hindsight we should've traded Lonzo for Lauri.

Yeah that was very dumb and was a common thread of Griffin needing to “win” every transaction. Really thought he could squeeze more from a Lonzo trade. We all knew he couldn’t. Almost anyone on here would have made that trade.

I can see Trae Young being available.

Possibly. I can't stand him, but he would do two things we absolutely need.
Give us someone who can take crunch-time shots, get to the FT line by flopping and actually run a set.

Lots of times, these things happen right before the deadline. We'll see.

I think Trae could be during the summer

I might be in the minority with this opinion
But there is no player on the market I could see as a feasible option that would be available to us that would make us a contender via picks and BI
Ingram plus 3 firsts for a marginally better player doesn’t open our championship window
With our roster getting only more and more expensive maybe I’m wrong on this but I’d rather restock the war chest if we went the trade route
I’d rather take as many unprotected firsts for Ingram as possible and keep hoping to strike gold via the draft
As currently assembled Zion is not ready and the team will not be able to retain the young talent we have that could be on a championship team
I’m not saying full fire sale but If this thing isn’t going to get going…Ingram, Val, CJ shed a lot of salary and could bring in a decent amount of lottery chips

I believe this as well. No way to become a contender for us without hitting it big in the draft. No stars will come here and there’s none on the market anyway.

Is Zion ever going to be ready? Takes hard work year round. Does he even want it?

You have to think past the super star model. Think more like Miami. Aim to get a team that can get to conference finals and hope things break your way.
Among the most interesting plot lines in the NBA this year are how Philly got better without Harden, how Chicago got better without LaVine and how Cavs went on a tear when Mobley and Garland went down. Stars aren't always the answer...

There is only so much more rebuilding the team can go through before they are at risk of being moved. Unless Todd Graves is set up to come in and buy both New Orleans franchises I am worried if no winning culture is developed soon then the team is destined to be moved.
I would look at finding elite role players that fit around Zion that have the potential to growing into superstars/all-nba players.

Not really suggesting rebuilding. It just doesn’t seem realistic to upgrade BI so the better route may be picks.
There’s about 0 chance a team is going to give up a player they think has All-NBA upside. Halliburton is maybe the only one I can think of recently…

The problem is doing a pick based deal, like with OKC who I think would be interested, is that’s a hard sell to everyone because it looks like a step back. In addition to future assets, at a minimum you need to bring in someone like Bogdonavic and Duren from Detroit so you can at least say “we needed to upgrade center and get more shooting around Zion.”

They need to accept reality. BI and Zion aren't going to work together. So you can either double down on stupid like the Saints, or try to recoup as much as you can.

You need to accept reality. No GM/POBO is going to try selling addition by subtraction in the middle of a season where you’re middle of the pack in the playoff tier. I think the teams most interested in BI would be like OKC and Detroit and you would not be getting a similar caliber player back.
I think they need to either not make it through the play in again, or get embarrassed in the 1st round for them to decide to break up the “best duo in the NBA”
