The price didn’t go up $2lb more you idiots, it went back where it was this weekend. It shouldn’t have went down $2lb anyway. Some of the restaurants are just trying to put them blame on others

Their false messaging usually works too. At least that restaurant may have dropped their price for a couple of days as some places didn't.

Most people believe everything they see and the narrative they think they
understand remains that greedy farmers set the price of crawfish.

Total hype by a bunch of alarmist

Lowest low that week on both gfs and euro operational runs and ensemble runs is 44 degrees

Too far out to have a definitive temperature range IMO. But even without another freeze in a couple of weeks, it's still not looking like a good start to the boiling season to me. But skrimps and steaks still cheap tho...

I'd kill for a slab of Bourgeois hot turkey head cheese right about now.

I think our next and hopefully last cold spell is the last week of February/first week of March according to the LRC weather outlook

It is that pound of potatoes running the price up.

Great potato shortage of 2024 is causing all of this.

It's rained like 11 inches in January. At least I know it has in Shreveport. Im guessing SLA got near or same as that. Shouldn't that help soon get it to normal or close to?

My seasoning and sides aren't $55. More like $10.

Nat gas is $2/mcf and gasoline is $2.60 a gallon. Tbh oil and gas prices haven't increased with inflation.

Especially nat gas. Nat gas was $5 an mcf in early 2000's. Today it's between $2-3. It's done the opposite of inflation and decreased.

It is helping some but the problem is the drought just killed a big chunk of the early crawfish that we should be catching right now. The damage is already done. It definitely doesn’t hurt to get rains weekly. Every front that passes cause crawfish to molt which means they are growing. It takes 11 molts for a crawfish to grow big enough to consume.
