The only Rouses in Houma that I’m familiar with is the one on St Charles and that’s a pretty nice store

I’ve never been to the one off Prospect. I assume that’s the one you’re talking about?

That place was a shithole before Ida.

I don’t blame them for not reopening, or selling it. That part of town is fricking poor trash.

I’m pumped about it. It’s less than a mile from my house and beats the shite outta going to Walmart.

That one is open.

The Family Dollar next to it took a beating and didn’t reopen.

I am not sure which one Chedballz was talking about.

Now in South Lafourche before Ida, they had 3 locations after they purchased 2 of the Franks locations in Golden Meadow and Larose.

The Rouses in Golden Meadow was tore up pretty bad, but they had that location back up and running within a month. Now the 1st location in South Lafourche which was a Delchamps before Rouses took over next to the old Kmart was never reopened after Ida.

The Rouses in Larose reopened fairly quickly after the storm.

don’t buy their branded coffee, it’s nasty.

Rouses coffee brand is private label and I would not be surprised if it’s made by Community Coffee.

They do a ton of boat and marine orders out of those locations that’s why they opened so quickly and that’s the main reason they bought those Franks locations and left the one in Des Alemends alone

Because it's not in a "food desert" and probably won't be robbed blind like the one in NBR

Update on that one?

what do you mean “not letting go of the lease”? Why would they need to “let” someone else come in if they own or are have it under lease and are current?

frick Rouses we use to have 2 in town, they closed the Ghetto one a while back and left the newer one open. After Ida the newer one closed and hasn't reopened since. Rouses is in contract with them till 2025 and is not letting go of the lease for someone else to come in.

I finally realized which location you are talking about.

It is the location near St. Anne Hospital. I didn’t know it was closed when I passed near there yesterday and didn’t see the Rouses sign.

Rouses took over when WinnDixie was going to close the store.

The Ghetto one was the one in “downtown” Raceland.

That's probably their oldest still operating store. They do a lot of boat orders out of that one. Where the store is sucks, but there's a lot of good area not far from there like Lafayette Woods, Presque Isle, Bourg, etc.
