News is going full AI there is no longer a need for journalists at these types of companies.
They may want to send their resumes to Sports Illustrated though since there are a lot of openings over there right now.

Idiots.
Way to potentially lose whatever severance you may have gotten...

the Los Angeles Times Guild staged a one-day walkout in multiple cities
Will anyone even notice a 1 day walkout?
Appears the plan is to layoff around 100 people, roughly 500 employees, and they think the best approach is to have ~300 people strike for 1 day and the paper still gets printed. Wouldn't this just potentially be a blueprint to show management they may be able to afford another 100 layoffs?
From article linked within the article:

Management has not publicly disclosed the number of newsroom positions that will be eliminated, but knowledgeable people said the plan is to lay off at least 100 journalists, or about 20% of the newsroom

impending layoffs
Building Back Better in the areas that really matter, and not what Biden was talking about.
But good news, according to mini Soros, Crime and Inflation largely evaporated.

Setting up for the retaliation lawsuit when their asses get fired during the strike.

That should make deciding who to layoff pretty easy.

Where do they get their sense of self-worth?
Seriously… I want to know.
It's to supplement the low pay.
The marketplace says journalist aren't that important or scarce. Which is why they don't get paid high salaries (except for a very few at the very top of the profession). Just look at local news. TV and print. It's now all a bunch of young kids who look like they just graduated from high school. That's because the business can't afford to pay middle-aged journalist a salary commensurate with they experience/needs. So in order to work for such low pay there has to be some other intrinsic "value". That value is a vastly inflated sense of self-worth. "No, I don't get paid a lot, but I'm very important. It's my responsibility to educate the dumb masses and shape society in the right way!"

I don't know what that Chinese billionaire was thinking when he bought that fish wrap in the first place.

I agree. Literally any AI can spit out a 750 word summary of facts. There are a million liberal bloggers out there for free. These guys have no job market.
