My experience in Monroe County is once they get started they don’t stop on account of weather- be it warm, cold, hot, rainy, whatever. Can make for a miserable day for us in the woods but the bucks don’t care.

Does warm weather stop you from chasing pussy? It doesn’t for deer either.

Starting Tuesday it looks like we're in for a ton of rain. I haven't even seen bucks cruising yet.

Too hot. Too cold. Whatever. Just go hunt if you want to kill a deer.

The 2 biggest deer I've killed were in 75 degree weather. They are gonna chase does regardless of the weather.

Listen to Southern U podcasts. Matt Brock is excellent for hunting Alabama. He addresses this weather and the rut in a recent podcast.

Rutting is rutting, weather doesn't matter unless its extreme.

Haven't seen a single fresh ground scrape on my place

I'm not sure if its "extreme" but I remember it hitting 70* during the rut years back and the daytime rutting activity just stopped.

It’s on at our place in Washington county. Watched a 7pt chasing a does in a green field Friday afternoon. 8 pt killed Sunday morning chasing. Saturday was kinda slow.

The biggest misconception in hunting IMO is that it has to be cold to kill deer.
All animals have 2 goals
1. Eat
2. Reproduce.
They will do one or the other almost every day.

The only good deer I have killed have been in mild rainy weather. Not warm but not cold.

Been a heck of a lot more moving on warm days than frigid days over the past few weeks (Central MS). Go getcha one!

rut
Hell, big bucks will chase a doe across a busy highway during lunch when the rut is on.

Had a 6pt up in the rear end of a doe 2 nights ago on camera. Thought the rut was over here. St tammany parish
