You are conflating the Chinese people with the CCP. For the Chinese people, like May become unbearable. For the CCP, not so much.

China's economy took a major hit. Fact
Europe's economy took a major hit. Fact.
America's economy took a major hit. Fact.
Again all known. Not debated.
You are complaining that China is missing a arm over covid like the rest of the world.
I am saying China saw the possibility of global manufacturing being diversified across the planet as worse much much worse to its long term economic health than amputating its arm over covid.
Is that clear now?

It was already occurring.
China is pricing themselves out of the market. Companies were already offshoring to Vietnam, etc.
quote:
In many Chinese cities, the minimum wage is over $350; in some, hiring workers for less than $500/month is impossible. While both countries have an abundant young workforce, Vietnam is still the more cost-effective choice for manufacturers looking to lower their labor spending
To escape tariffs, Chinese companies offshore mfg to VietNam.

Their middle class became “too wealthy” to compete against poorer nations. That is why I don’t think that the CCP would care if their middle class were devastated financially. At the end of the day, the CCP can house and feed their population. Their military has no issue “managing” their population either.

China is dealing with an epic disaster in the making already. The population floor is about to drop.

Old people dying is of no concern to the CCP.
Fewer “slaves” to feed is a net positive.
My mother was detained in China Whalen they lived there, my father was arrested and brought before a judge. If it weren’t for some incredibly quick thinking on his part, he was probably headed to jail (false charges concerning finances, but the CCP doesn’t care about the truth).
The people there only have value to the CCP if they are productive.
Again, China is one of the few (only?) countries on the planet that could feasibly manage an economic collapse.

He doesn't care.
He cares only to protect his liberal overlords.
Hes part of the disease.

Well if China could rid Africa of Africans that would greatly enhance their ability to take over resources on the dark continent.

Otherwise, China could tell their people to lock themselves inside of their (ultimately government owned) houses and that’s that. I have stated this previously, the CCP may not see economic collapse as a negative. It would crush their “middle class,” meaning repossession of millions of homes (at that point…government property), and a slew of desperate people that are, once again, a veritable source of slave labor.
And what, exactly, would be the benefits to this plan?
China has invested hundreds of billions of dollars and stolen IP for years to develop a more modern economy that doesn't rely on population-based low-margin output, so their master plan is to...destroy the portion of their economy that is somewhat advanced to double down on population-based low-margin output...as their population is about to decline exponentially?
Explain this to me.

I'm not complaining.

So they engage in a behavior that accelerated diversified global manufacturing?
How does this benefit China?

That's not what Rog was talking about.
They don't have enough replacement young people to produce low-margin items in any volume resembling pre-Covid output.

Their living standards will decline like everyone else, and the CCP will be presiding over that failure. Xi would have to admit his entire time in leadership was a failure, after spending hundreds of billions of CCP money on that vision.

You picked the one wrong word I used.
I should have used another word.
"How does this benefit China?"
China manufacturing output for 2021 was $4,909.01B, a 27.15% increase from 2020.
China Manufacturing Output

2022 $4,975.61B 27.70%
2021 $4,909.01B 27.55%
2020 $3,860.70B 26.29%
2019 $3,823.42B 26.77%
2018 $3,868.48B 27.84%
2017 $3,460.35B 28.11%
2016 $3,153.13B 28.07%

Not what I said.

I would say that automation will become a much greater factor. In the short term, people will be put to work in the transition.
I also would suggest that the military is about to grow in size quite a bit.
Lastly, I could foresee agriculture being enhanced via forced labor camps for dissidents.
The whole scenario is extreme.
My point is that China is the one country that could probably weather things with the least interruption.
Oh, another thing, a devastated Europe and an America in turmoil would be an added bonuses for the CCP.

And how is this useful when their demographic issues create massive population decline?
How can they sustain their economic output relying on low-margin manufacturing output without a replacement population?
China and Xi have been investing heavily to get out of that for 20 years.

I don’t say this lightly, but if China does that shite again we need to go to war.
