Should downtown Covington swap their grid to one-way streets?

It’s the North Shore, we’re not driving smart cars.
With the parking zones on each side of the street, if there’s an SUV or truck on either side, two large vehicles don’t have confident space to pass each other without driving 2MPH.
Delivery drivers are SOL at times driving in downtown.
In some cases if people are parked close to the intersection and there’s oncoming traffic, it’s a challenge if not impossible to get the turning radius for a right turn.
Covington city blocks are small, having to go an extra block and make a right would delay you by about 8 seconds. Or it will speed up your trip if you’re not behind two trucks trying to crawl past each other in Columbia.

I dunno. I just miss the old Foxhole army surplus store. At least H.J. Smith is still there.

Bridge should have been redone 20 years ago. It was obvious then.

Selfishly, whatever gets more traffic on Rutland maybe.
Might have a building to rent.

Looking at Google maps that bridge is only half of it, the light at Lee Rd is also timed like sh**te and wants to prioritize keeping Lee Rd in the green.

I know next to nothing about Covington or current state of traffic there. But in general if you're asking the question at all, the answer is yes.

The “final exam” for the driver’s ed course used to be parallel parking on Boston Street. It was sort of like everyone knew the DMV was going to make sure you could navigate the 4 way stop at the intersection of 190 and Hwy 22 before passing your driver’s license road test.
I don’t remember anyone complaining about Boston St being too narrow but I guess we got used to driving in close proximity to other cars when there was only one Causeway span and you had cars driving in opposite directions with no dividers.
I don’t think one-way traffic would work because, as the bridge comment shows, there are limited points to enter and exit downtown and you’d just create bottlenecks.

The biggest problem is people trying to turn left on Boston street traveling south. You might get one or two cars through every light cycle. frick every last one of them.
