We haven’t been able to find the right spot for the young man and it doesn’t help that he isn’t aggressive. But it seems like a lot of our defensive backs have shied away from contact the past few years.

Burns needs to get rid of the neck roll until he starts making plays. He looks foolish running around with it and talking shite after blown plays

Maybe Sage has just been caught up in unfortunate events with coaching changes and injures, so I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt.

I'm less optimistic about Burns.

Unleash Burns? Burns needs to be reined in. Dude be flexing and screaming when he chases a guy out of bounds after a 50 yard gain. Maybe teach him better tacking would be the way to start.

Sage at least at point had talent. Maybe coaching will help.

Burns is one of the worst football players I’ve ever seen. The fact that he gets playing time is embarrassing, let alone starts

I’ve never seen someone celebrate so much after tackling a player into the end zone. Like in the A&M game there was a player who wouldn’t have scored if he just stood him up but flipped him over and talked shite.

He does it atleast 10 times a game . Go rewatch the Wisconsin game . The other team was either confused by him or laughing at him .

I think we’ve seen Burns’ best. It’s a lot better than Tiger fans credit him for, but an improved defense will raise those appraisals even if Burns. Plays the same. He plays the position well, but he lacks that killer toughness you’d like to see in a safety.

I think Sage Ryan played very well last season. I know I’m in the minority, but he looked good to me, even though he is clearly not a true corner.

'Burns Unleashed'...

Concrning thought - he may actually run away from the play

Burns is maxed out. He cannot cover anybody and for him to be a skinny safety that is insane to see him get burnt every play and flex.

Sage played very well the last few games and I have hope for him. I appreciate Burns' passion on he team, but really hope to see the younger guys take over. I think they will. I can see Burns end up transferring.

I like having bigger safeties roaming the field. Jay Ward was the last wirey guy but he was 100x's better than Burns and he was better at CB than S.

Burns just seems slow and passive. Not sure what the deal is.

To be fair, two characteristics of a good DB are having a short memory and extreme confidence. You don’t want to temper that in Burns.

People here can't seem to see beyond the one thing they get fixated on. Sage needs to learn to tackle, he was awful at that. But he scored well in pass coverage. His tackling issues are fixable with coaching and repetition, I believe.

Olsen is going to be handling these 2 more than Raymond will. Sage should finally move back to Safety. I'm more curious to see how Raymond teaches the Corners and helps to develop those but Sage and Toviano should be moving to their natural position of Safety now.

GTFO. He was playing out of position because of a lack of quality corners. Hes a true Tiger. He might be a depth piece after some of the transfers but he doesn't need to transfer.

This....watching him drag a running back forward 2 yds. after a 12 yard gain and then IMMEDIETLY stand up and talk trash is frustrating.

Im all for swagger, mental toughness, confidence, etc.... but make a great play 1st, then have swag. You dont have to talk trash after a mediocre tackle on a big gain.
