Help With Home Owners Insurance

Hi Fam,
We live in Tara and have Farm Bureau for our home insurance, Farm Bureau got approved for two rate hikes this year, a 15% in March 2023, and a 37% increase in September 2023 for a combined increase of 52%! I’m going with All State since their increase is very nominal in comparison. Anyone else have this issue with their insurance company? Farm Bureau has done this in the last four years every year. It quadrupled my insurance. Anyone can suggest a company that doesn’t rape the wallets of the home owner? Farm Bureau is telling me it’s cost of rebuilding my house even though that figure has not changed in three years, shows that figure on their own paperwork.
Thanks all for any help

Either use Insurance Network of Louisiana or start shopping around. I can't think of any insurance company that hasn't jacked up rates here.

I have progressive, haven’t received my annual bendover yet. But I do still have flat 1000$ deductible even for hurricanes. Hoping that won’t change

You're lucky if you have choices. Only AllState will insure my house so they can do whatever they want with me. I'm stuck. And AllState sucks terribly.

FB is hemorrhaging HO policies and may not live through the blood letting. Last I checked they were B rated and if you have wind included your premiums will continue to increase.
Find an independent agent with multiple carriers and let him quote all of your business.
Progressive is non renewing all of their HO policies less than 3 years old and increasing rates on those they keep.
Yeah I’m a salty former FB agent that has zero love for them.

Coming from someone that deals with insurance companies every day for work and has to fight with them all the time on behalf of homeowners. Allstate is hands down the worst homeowners insurance. I wouldn't have Allstate if it was given to me for free, and I'm dead serious with that. When I started dealing with homeowners insurance claims 7 years ago, I realized very quickly that I would never have homeowners with them and they've only gotten worse over the years.

Try Gulf States. My agent just got me a policy that is cheaper than I’ve had with Lloyd’s since Ida. Looks to be better coverage too. It’s under $5k. About $250k dwelling so mine may be less than yours.

I work with different carriers regarding property claims. I can Allstate provides terrible service to their policyholders and I would avoid them at all costs.

This sounds like you are confusing the amount of coverage you have with the cost to repair/replace your dwelling.
Best way to lower your premium is to increase your deductilbe and decline the replacement cost value endorsement for your personal property.

My house isn't even in a flood zone and my mortgage jumped $400 a month. I'm not even going to try and shop around until all this settles down and we really see who is charging what
