Hmm. Probably just a rumor then. I doubt Harley would want to have the title and no power when he can have full control in Carolina

Why would either party go anywhere? They are Defacto owners serving at Gayle’s pleasure? As long as the gravy train is rolling they have a ticket…..

It's weird to me that everyone here seems to think the saints are horribly run, and yet their FO seems to have guys other teams want

They have done well hiring young talent, that doesn’t changing the fact the power brokers are the ones remaining.

I would guess, business wise, and bottom line wise

The Saints are an excellent organization

Forget about ever going to another SuperBowl

Oldest roster in the league
No cap space
Identified Derek Carr as the $150 mil QB of the future
Hired Dennis Allen
Brought back Carmichael

Would get you fired in other professional settings not deeply rooted in nepotism. These guys continue to double down on bad moves and push us further away from any glimpse of sustained success

Loomis runs the saints and will continue to run the saints. Harley will have little say in anything.

I think the oldest team deal is a little overblown. The jets are actually the oldest team at an avg age of 27 yrs, 4 months. The saints are 27 years, 2 months. There's 6 teams with an avg in the 25s, 24 teams in the 26s, and 2 teams in the 27s. If you rounded to whole numbers, the jets and saints would be at 27, along with 10 other teams.

We had the oldest offense in the league and second oldest defense in the league based on snap weighted age, thus making us oldest team in the league based on snap weighted. It’s not overblown when you also consider the money committed to them

The jets were the 24th oldest

This is actually weighing the number of snaps the players are getting. There’s no sugar coating this

And i believe the other top 5 oldest teams snap weighted all made the playoffs

Dennis pretty much runs the finances for Gayle. Nothing more or less. You can let Mickey be president of football ops and move Khai into GM. Allows you to keep him and Mickey can still look over day to day.

Bottom line: the team needs to hit on the next few drafts. They can quickly get out of the hole by hitting on 1-2 drafts. Look at the Lions. Had 2-3 great drafts and injected the roster full of young talent.

The Saints hit on one big one: 2017 and have been coasting off it and fricking drafts up left and right. Mismanaging cap space and draft capital. That’s on Mickey. Not Khai.
