Right? Because this landscape is the fans’ fault lol.

What happened to iron sharpens iron?

Bringing in competition is as much about strengthening the backups to motivate the starters which helps the development process.

This guy is just wrong. Should always bring in players to push the ones you already have.

Of course, there is a point that your roster can have too many guys. But the sentiment is wrong.

BTW, I know CAPITILIZED words are interpreted as "anger" by many people. I mean it for emphasis. I should really start bold-facing those words instead. When I'm angry I call names.

Nope. The main reason Saban is stepping down is because he is 72 and tired.

I have no clue why you think this contradicts my post. It doesn't at all. He can't put forth the energy to maintain the culture required to win at the level he expects. He said it exactly himself. He could do well but he wants to do it exactly as he has always done it.

With the transfer portal and NIL it makes his job that much harder. He can't pull the guys in as recruits and focus on development, now he would have to continue to recruit and scout other players if he has to replace anyone. Then he has to manage the disgruntled NIL priority players of which I'm sure Bama pulled in more than most given their high rankings.

Why do we have to do your work for you? Just google his name followed by lsu. It’s quite simple.

Yeah, in one of his statements, he mentioned age, needing more sleep, and specifically having to work with the defense more. On that, he was honest.

I don't remember him specifically saying that so that may be your opinion which I agree with BTW. You briefly touched on IMO his main problem now. Within the 85 limit restriction, he used to "stockpile" players. A few prospects each class he signed I firmly believed was to keep LSU or Georgia or Auburn from signing them knowing that at Alabama they weren't that important at their positions. With the transfer portal, that won't work anymore...especially with the 1st time transfer-no sit-out rule. Look at the number of 5* QBs and highly ranked WRers Alabama signed the last few years and how many left the program after a year or so. Now, they are stuck with a mediocre QB like Milroe who is very inconsistent on short/medium passes. The transfer portal has devastated the depth of Alabama and also spread the previous depth they used to have to other programs.

Nope, I haven't use a bowl in having my hair cut in quite some time. Also, if that picture is from the Alabama presser I wasn't there. I would have been smiling if I was. Anyway, this thread has veered way off from LSU recruiting, so I will stop posting on this particular thread.

Hate to break it to Mr. Wilson but the new portal changed all that. What about a 5 star OL that was was going to start next year leaving. What about LSU’s best 2 QB’s in history being transfers. Wilson must be paid to dish out Bullshite.

Part of his job is following social media and relaying info from it

From the little bit I’ve seen mentioned on here, he would be better off not contributing his thoughts on it

No school is ever going to live off transfer guys year to year and expect to be consistently successful. You'll kill your HS recruiting once they learn it's pointless to sign with you because you'll just bring in a transfer.

This. Ole Miss might have a squad this year, but it's not built for long-term success. For OM to be competitive every year, they're going to have to hit on 100% of their targets until they can recruit better.
