The party is made up of corporatists and communists, extreme rich and extreme poor, centrists like Manchin and RFK, Jr., and BLM. How do the Dems remain in lockstep even though there is such wide ranging diversity? There is practically NO public dissention between Dems. There is NO breaking ranks. There is NO trash talking other Dems.
It's incredibly effective, allowing the party to focus all effort on keeping the opposition on their heels.

How do they do it?
Can Republicans learn from the Dem model?

The SOBs are fascists under threats of all kinds.

Republicans are free thinking which is more American but most are blackmailed by the deep state.

They have a common purpose. To destroy the country.

Doesn't seem like it. Are we trying to win back ground from the left? Hold our current ground? Vindicate Trump? Burn it all down?

We're scattered. When we're focused "Build the Wall", deport illegals, stand up for working Americans, we're strong. When we're chasing conspiracy theories and detaching ourselves from reality, we're weak and we can't have a common purpose.

Dems aren’t united. It just appears that way because they run their party with an authoritarian hand. Look at all the people leaving their party or switching the last few years. Many are quitting

Their goal is raw power.

They have no interest in making things better for the people.

Herd mentality is real. Their followers are hook, line, and sinker living in either fear, or, the belief of virtue signaling.

"If we let the Reps take _________, they will trample over all of your rights, just like they did with abortion!"

"I'll be voting for the candidate that believes in treating all people equally"

90% of the people I know that are right leaning, whether it be Republicans, Libertarians, or no affiliation, all can reasonably ponder a situation, and draw a conclusion, or, ask questions or clarification. I know of only a couple of Dems that can do this.

Dems are single issue oriented, and typically very emotionally involved with that issue. So they are willing to look past any fault in a politician , if he is promising to act on their particular issue. They will be ok with watching the economy crash if abortion, or global warming, or gay rights or whatever their trigger issue is, gets some attention
It makes no sense if you try to use logic to understand it, you never will.

I don't think the Dems are unified to the degree that the OP suggests. The far left faction tends to lock horns with the moderates like Joe Manchin.

There are Republicans that think like Democrats.

There are no Democrats that think like Republicans.

That's it in a nutshell.

Republicans are too stupid to be united. Too many factions. Democrats are told what to do and follow commands.

They learned their lesson when some of the Bernie bros broke off and Hillary got smoked, unlike republicans.

There’s plenty of dissension for Democrats.

The progressives have completely taken over the party, though, at this point.
