It the officiating office that resides in Alabama. What makes fans hate the Alabama team is the one-sided officiating that goes on when Alabama plays another tough team in the SEC.
If games were called fairly, Other SEC fans would not hate Alabama so much.
I agree but have a different take on the new situation.
Alabama has "carried the banner" for the SEC much more effectively than all other SEC teams combined since Saban established "the evil empire" in Tuscaloosa.
I believe the officiating bias (not even arguable) was created more for the benefit of the SEC prestige and revenue than about a team that is located in the same state as the SEC office. Had Tennessee been the dominant team for 15-16 years I think we would have seen a bias toward the orange team.
The second part of my theory is that officials were actually intimidated by Saban's "mystique and success" as well as his unrelenting badgering, yelling, cursing, and looks at the officials, to the point that they did not want to incur his wrath. And imagine the next time you were on the field to call another of Bama's game if you had previously made a call that cost him a victory.
I believe that the bias will lessen immediately and eventually disappear.

If we beat then 50 straight years, and they lose the Iron Bowl 50 straight years, and every one of those games is a heartbreaking last second loss, it won't satisfy my hatred for them.

You should live in the state as a fan of LSU. I’m stoked. Now my son will grow up without Alabama at the top. If it were my opinion, I think Brian Kelly has the opportunity to turn into the best SEC team.
I have an Auburn friend who thinks there are rumblings that Kirby may be leaving for the NFL. Either way, Kelly has some advantages when it comes to recruiting and after this season it appears he’s locked in and hiring the best

My 2nd favorite team is who ever is playing Alabama.
If they are not careful they will be back in Music City Bowls in a few years.

1983-1999 Bama was 11-5-1 against LSU. LSU did not have any consecutive wins in that time.
We were 2-0-1 in the three Arnsparger ('84 -'86); three consecutive years without a loss. And if Ronnie Lweis hadn't missed the chip shot in '85 it would've been three straight.
Spinoff: is Arnsparger the only HC on either side to never lose to the other?

LSU…went 20+ years without [winning in Tiger Stadium].
Make that 30+ years. 1969 to 2000.

Ronnie let a lot of people down then. I remember that moment.
Hey, everyone.

The only thing worse tha a Bama fan is a bandwagon Bama fan. At least Bama fan gets some of the facts straight.

And buckle up buttercup because the only fan base worse than the rednecks from T-Town is the arrogant pricks from Austin…
And they (unlike their little brothers further east) have a much better chance to immediately start competing when they move to the SEC.

A concern is whether CBK will feel the same hate I do. That concerns me.

They’re the worst fans I have ever encountered
Arrogant and entitled.

I'd say it's this. Many LSU fans went 20+ years without beating Bama in Tiger Stadium.

Agree, but there was always that “how many NC’s would we have won had Satan not left LSU”. I think that is thee hardest pill for most of our fan base to swallow.

My hatred for Bama is 90% based on the SEC office being full of Bama fans. The conference literally looks out for Bama first and vaguely pretends to care about the other schools. Along with the conference office giving them every advantage, the media does everything in their power to prop them up as well. Referees act like Bama is the globetrotters and the other team is the made up tram paid to come lose.
Saban was maybe 5% of what annoyed me about Bama.
