59-56?

Shootout incoming.

Bowl game stats:
Nussmeier: 395 yards, 3 TDs

My heart can't keep going on like this.
Hopefully our new DC doesn't start off the same way our last one left us.

A Riley offense is going to put up points. Even 2019 OU had 28. LSU just happened to put up 60+.

Even with a competent DC and our talent, I can see USC putting up 35+. Their heir apparent at QB is solid.

It's not ideal to start the season with USC away from home. I think unless there are wholesale defensive changes it will come down to who has the ball last and might be a race to 50.

Please

Moss has one good game against Louisville & we wanna hand him the Heisman already.

I expect a much better defense in 2024 with better coaches & better players.

LSU 42-24

It is really amazing how much the two teams mirror each other. Both had prolific offenses this year, are losing Heisman quarterbacks, but have what seem to be very capable (if somewhat less dynamic) heirs apparent. Both had really terrible defenses--almost amazingly so, given the level at which the programs typically recruit. Both have indisputably good coaches, but with lingering doubts about whether they are truly elite in terms of their ability to put together a championship-quality program. Both are blue-blood programs with multiple national championships who, despite nice bowl wins, feel like they could have accomplished more this season (though USC's year was definitely more disappointing than LSU's).

I think the outcome of the game will largely be determined by whether Riley or Kelly moves more aggressively, through staff changes and/or portal acquisitions, to significantly upgrade their defense. It should be a really interesting game!

Impossible to know until we see what the defense will do. The offense is so loaded, even with a new starter at QB, that they will not be a problem.
