he doesn't have to be Jayden but enough to keep the defense honest....he should be great.

as long as he's mobile in the pocket that's all that really matters with the arm he has

He’s as mobile as Burrow, which is more than enough.

They may have game planned for him to not run because our limited depth with just Collins behind him.

Burrow had close to 700 yards rushing if I remember right. Here's the thing, running out of the pocket isn't enough. You need to actually show you are willing to run. If all you ever do is escape the pocket to just to throw, teams will never be forced to drop a man from coverage. He needs to run a few times a game, even if it's just a few yards.

In the last 2 years with 150+ pass attempts he's been sacked once.

He rarely runs, but is definitely mobile. I'd like to see him try to gain a few yards on some of the plays he throws the ball away.

I agree. I think the playbook will change next year based around his skill set

In pocket mobility, maybe. As a threat to run when the pocket breaks down, not even close. Certainly not as a QB draw threat like Burrow was. That could change of course with play calling.

Made this same comment and got downvoted. Has to show the ability to pull it and run.

Burrow had 368 rushing yards his last year and 399 the year before.

He wasn’t running

He hasn’t played enough for you to know this.

He has not played enough to prove that he is indeed that mobile as a pure runner like Burrow. Until he does, he is not that mobile.

The kid has greatly improved his pocket awareness since 2021 and avoids the rush well. Designed carries or a run threat at the level Burrow did it is an entirely different animal.

I was in the front row at the 50.

Lacy was consistently fussing him about being wide open.

This. We will have better, more prepared depth next season. I think we’ll see him keep on some zone reads and scrambles in 24. He isn’t going to gash a defense for chunk plays, but all he needs to do is pick up easy yards and some first downs, and defenses will have to respect the threat.

I know he is a capable runner but I don’t think he ran the ball once today.
