The Western Elites turned this into the moral cause of the early 21st Century and sucked "Progressives" and U.S. LIVs into supporting the effort.

With $$$ Billions spent, 100s of thousands of lives wasted, our so-called Elites are now turning away from a lost cause.
Russia’s superpower is the ruthlessness of its leadership; the Russians seem willing to use their citizens as cannon fodder, expending men the way the US expends bullets. Red Army; who knew?

This is an Opinion piece from a former supporter of the war who become disillusioned, and believes it's time to end it.

Spectator

quote:

...the average age of the Ukrainian army is now forty-three, a statistic that makes me even sicker. They’re running out of young men, not because the young men won’t serve but because they’re dead. Ukrainian women are being sent to the front lines. Russia had nearly four times the population of Ukraine before the war; given the reduced population in Kyiv-controlled areas, the countries are now mismatched in manpower by a factor of five.

quote:

With his legacy and political future on the line, Putin is clearly all-in for the long haul. The easily manipulated Russian public have not rebelled. Putin’s inner sanctum hasn’t staged a coup. Russian GDP has increased since last year. The rouble started rising against the dollar. Western sanctions have failed.

quote:

No matter how much ordnance the US and NATO ship to Zelensky, we’re not providing the soldiers obliged to wield it. I say this with a heavy heart: if the writing is on the wall — if a negotiated settlement that cedes captured territory to Putin looks inevitable — maybe it’s time to urge the Zelensky government to enter talks to bring this depressing war to its depressing conclusion.

quote:

Dragging out an entrenched stalemate merely racks up a higher body count and destroys more Ukrainian homes and infrastructure to no purpose. Sitting back and giving Ukrainians just enough weaponry to keep fighting to the last man and woman, only for the country to finally end up where we always knew it would, is not just immoral. It’s murder.

A whole lotta truth here.

Our leaders never explained why we needed to support this. Not in the way they should have explained it. I do think there will be repercussions in Eastern Europe if Russia finally defeats in totality, the Ukrainians. Our current leadership just hasn't laid out the case. Not did they supply all possible armaments needed for Ukraine. And finally the Republican party has turned against it so it may be a fait accompli for the Russians.
The rest of the countries over there are largely members of NATO so we will revisit this shite in the future.
Except Moldova. Moldova is next to go.

They're going to liquidate all those Russian assets and make sure the laundering continues. I'd love to know where all the money is actually going.

Incorrect. The MSM Propaganda Machine Complex doesn't want us talking about Ukraine any more.

Give them the biggest double bird imaginable, and keep putting your grievances with the Ukraine War on blast, every day.

Everyone, outside of the O-T Call of Duty keyboard warrior thread and some delusional Reddit drones, knew from the beginning that this war would only end with Russia inevitably and eventually winning and annexing the easternmost regions of Ukraine. This is their M.O...

When Establishment Presidential administrations are in power, Russia is permitted to move their agenda forward and only face a controlled opposition:

In 2008, under US President G.W. Bush, Russia pushed into Georgia, annexing territories formerly part of the "Russian Motherland". This continued into 2009 under US President Barack Hussein Soerto. In 2021, under US President* Joseph "Potato Head" Robinette Biden, Russia further advanced their agenda physically and politically in Georgia.

In 2014, under US President Barack Hussein Soerto, Russia began the annexation process of lands formerly held by the "Russian Motherland" in the Crimean Peninsula. They were successful.

And in 2021 again, under President" Joseph "Potato Head" Robinette Biden, Russia began it's play towards the annexation of Eastern Ukraine, and is trudging along towards certain victory.

...

So what are we missing within that timeframe? The years of 2017 through 2020, when US President Donald John Trump was in charge, Russia sat idly and made no moves. Weird, right? The MSM Narrative Control Apparatus would have us believing that DJT was a "Russian asset" wholly compromised by the Kremlin... But how is that, when the only years this century that Russia didn't advance its influence were those 4 years under Trump?

Say NO to the media, and the narrative. They don't get to choose what we say and talk about. WE DO. Be loud and proud, and don't allow this massive money laundering operation known to the public as "Military and Humanitarian aid for Ukraine" to just fade away like they want.

Oh they are still waving that Ukraine flag over in the OT warmonger thread. They’d go fight themselves but for the weight limit.

I said from the beginning the West would gladly fight the Russians to the last Ukranian. Ukraine served as a speed bump to give Europe time to arm up. The Russian plan was likely to take Ukraine and Moldova first, followed by the Baltic states.

Full Nato wouldn't even be needed...the Baltic states and Nordic countries would destroy conventional Russian forces.

The only turning being done is looking for the next cash cow. Colour me jaded but the profits for Pharma the last couple of years and for the MiC the next few years lends me to think some may have character issues.
