Boss sends email last night expressing the importance of a ""Fast Start"" to the New Year next week and he lists all that we must get done next week. Thanks boss for the reminder that next week is fast approaching. Can't wait!

Sounds like next week is a good time to get mysteriously sick.

Boss sounds like a bad leader. Never let ‘em see you sweat.

The flu is going around might want to let him know you feel a little tinge of it creeping in.

He probably thinks his email looks good for his bosses, but they already know he is a moron as well.

He is overpaid, and it is the little people like you that make the company what it is.

He sees a weak start to the new year and is worried if the business doesn’t hit the ground running there’s financial risk.

He probably sees layoffs in the future.

Guy sounds like a loser who doesn’t keep employees properly motivated year-round.

Email after 5:00pm on a holiday weekend?

Send an email at 7:00am Tuesday morning to you boss. Copy his boss. Let them know that you are just seeing this email and that you echo the sentiment, but that the timing of emails could be a little better to reach that desired effectiveness.

The last thing I’m going to do is bother my team while they’re on vacation, especially when I’m on vacation as well.

We hit plan for the month last week so this week I’ve been pretty hands off allowing folks to unwind and relax. I do have a company wide lunch scheduled for Tuesday for year end review and outline goals for this coming year. No sense in sending that late on Friday. By the time folks get back into the office they would have forgotten all about it.
