Same spot I hunted all day yesterday. Saw a 6 with some does yesterday morning then nothing the rest of the day.
They must have really turned on overnight though because I’ve seen/heard chasing basically nonstop since I got in the tree. Had a decent 8 pushing some does around but he wasn’t worth putting my last buck tag on. Hopefully a big one will catch the trail and come through for me.

Last sit of the season for me. I’ve gotten two this year including my first archery tag but wanted to come out one last morning. Good luck to all.

Debating moving trees after 10, but who knows how easy that one is or if the view is better. Seems like it would be but sometimes you can't tell until you're over there.

Glad you at least saw something. We didn’t see a single bird and must’ve been on the other side of the bayou from you.

Update even though no one cares:

Dickin around with trees: 3
Deer action: 0

I'm in a different one after ruling out one that was too big. Pretty view but it was twisty enough to not be fun to climb. Duck River on my right, food plot to my left, I'm downwind of it. Small strip of woods I'm in might be a travel lane, we'll see. And I got nice and warmed up dickin around

I was hunting on a road between a cutover and mixed timber area this morning. Didn't have any action at all except crows and hawks flying around. Climbed down around 9 am to take a piss. As I was climbing back up the ladder it sounded like the herd took off through the woods. I never can time a piss well when hunting.

I always piss from the stand. I would never climb down just to pee.

I always piss from the tree too, and I've shot 2 or 3 within 10 minutes of doing so. If they see a human they freak out, but I think various forms of urine get them interested sometimes. Or they don't care. Getting looked up at while your junk is out and also not holding your gun would suck though.

Action picked up for us from 10:15 to 11:45.

4Jr didn’t want to shoot a doe, didn’t care for a nasty cull 3pt we’ve been wanting to get out for a while, then decided he wanted to kill a doe after we had seen 9 deer. He then got hungry and his phone battery was down to 10%.

I’ve decided one of us is pulling the trigger before dark. I’m tired of seeing deer and not cleaning one.

I'll let it fly next time. I've always gone back and forth on which is better. Today was not the day to climb down for sure. Going to sit in a shooting house on a food plot this afternoon. We have nice food plots but all the action has been on camera after dark. No one has killed anything on our food plots this year.

Last year it was almost a guarantee that you would see one, much less shoot one on a field. This year has been the polar opposite.

I got down around 9:30. When I pulled out on the road around 10 a big 8 point I’ve been after was standing right in the middle of the road with a doe and they ran into a neighbors place (nobody was hunting there).

I’ve got pics of him, mainly at night, but never laid eyes on him.

Switched spots from this morning. Trying to get my wife’s first deer. A close family friend gave us the green light to hunt his property. It’s a beautiful day.

Moved from my morning spot to the edge of a dry bottom that I’ve been seeing rubs and scrapes along on my walk in. Saw a bunch this morning but I needed to hunt close to the bike. Gotta pack up and clean up around the Airbnb when I get back. Tomorrow morning is my last hunt of my week long trip, and my last gun hunt of the season unless I get invited somewhere.
So far this week I’ve seen exactly 0 deer on evening hunts so my confidence of seeing a nice buck is low. Giving it all I got though.
