Sitting with youngest daughter in same stand my oldest killed a nice 8 last weekend. Rut is kicking off. Hoping for a mature buck. Had a long walk in and she’s dressed like a marshmallow so now she’s shedding layers. Beautiful morning to be alive! Good luck everyone

In a ladder stand over looking what should be a flooded slough but it’s dry. Same stand my dad killed a buck in on Tuesday that was chasing a doe. Wood ducks flying over head to the canal that has water. Let’s have a good day, baws.

Youngest son and his family and in-laws came in yesterday evening. Killed off most a 12# prime rib, hoping to keep from having to pass it this morning. Deployed them on the two road stands that usually have a lot of crossing traffic in the mornings, hoping they can each bag one.

Reading the replies to my doe thread, we need to shoot another 8-10 (only 2 taken all year), so I might pop a cap in a yearling if one shows. Need some more HQ steaks anyway.

Good luck folks, especially those with wives and kids out with them. We need to get more of the next generation off their phones and out in the woods.

New spot for me on the southeast corner of a food plot. I think there's a guy northwest of me calling a lot (for deer), that or all of a sudden deer talk a bunch. We're a month past the rut. My visibility isn't great, but instead of finding open view spots in trying this one where they might like all the brushy stuff. Who knows.

Does only. Good luck all!

What a gorgeous morning to be alive and able to do what we love. Just let a big doe and her yearling mosey thru. Have helped clean a hog, a doe and a spike the last 3 days. About time for my crew to reciprocate

The woodies must have continued downstream, never saw them and the whistling quit around 6:50. I did just have a flock of hooded mergansers (counted 9) swim past me heading downstream. A lack of interest in eating them kept me from shooting but they best not come back by.
