No, it would be saying, the state is going to fulfill its limited function in protecting minors from sexual and physical abuse, from anyone.
Parents can’t give their kids alcohol, weed, shrooms, etc. Can’t amputate a limb. And so on.
Blindly ignoring this makes this governor look like an evil fool.

You let the Left reframe gender care as medical treatment.
Yep. It will run its course. There will
be lawsuits in the end.

You let them reframe the dichotomy of male and female as a cultural belief.
Within reason as I said. Male/female is backed by science. It has legal meaning. That’s a battle worth fighting.
But If a family and their kid wants to transition and a medical doctor supports it - let them. But it should be considered cosmetic and I shouldn’t pay for it.
It takes that family out of the gene pool. And they are doing it voluntarily.

You’re not in favor of fighting it here.

It won’t be considered and your tax dollars will pay for it. Or your insurance pool dollars (by government mandate for qualifying plans).

This right here is why the left wins and the right always loses.
This quote from No Country for Old Men is very apt. "If the rule you follow brought you here, then what was the point of the rule"?
The right has a way of saving libs from themselves. Sometimes conservatives need to step back and let liberals fail.
The Oregon decriminalization of drugs is an example. The soft on crime DAs is another. Gender transitioning is yet another.
It will backfire. Always does.
Knowing when to step in vs letting them fail and choosing certain battles is key. I’d suggest the border crisis isn’t one conservatives want to sit out. Can’t put that toothpaste back in the tube.
So your cliche about the rule - sometimes it’s not clear where it’s taking folks - But enough time - and for those of us who see the forest for trees - we know exactly where it’s headed. And is usually has a lesson for the history books involved.
Cant legislate morality, and really, can’t legislate to prevent progressive failure (depending on what’s at risk).

He’s advocating for zero government involvement/regulation - which is a traditionally conservative approach. So I get it.
This is why conservatives routinely lose. As long as people's bad decisions are bailed out by their neighbors, then regulation of behavior is absolutely needed.

It sucks for them - but they aren’t my responsibility. Natural selection is based on survival of the fittest. Poor parenting has consequences and has thinned out the gene pool throughout Earths history. This is no different.
Same with Hamas and Gaza. It sucks - but they voted for that shite. It has consequences.

Who said anything about bailing them out? They will be permanently sterile and there will be lawsuits against providers eventually.
That needs to run its course.

This isnt a matter of kids playing violent video games. As long as you people can say youve stuck to your ideals, damn all the actually innocent and helpless that have their lives ruined in the process. Sticking to your ideals doesnt even work. The left is taking over despite being a minority

The question no reporter will ever ask him:
"Governor DeWine, why are you so strongly in favor of irreversible child genital mutilation?"

Innocent? They want it.
Become an activist and do interventions if you want to do something about it. You’ll never be able to keep up with the amount of idiots out there.
Again - you can’t legislate morality. Otherwise you’re a progressive.

Or im just a practical person. You absolutely can and should legislate morality. No society has ever lasted 10 seconds without doing so

When morality impacts other people (society) - yes.
It doesn’t impact me if sally wants to become Sam.
