I'm listening to this podcast about former DEA agent Chad Scott and his cohorts, and man, the CI game is a dirty one. Good example of why the DEA led war on drugs will never work, and how drugs being on the street is beneficial to their organization. Anyone know Scott, or have any stories about him?

There is no doubt those guys were involved in some gangster shite. Some of the Task Force members (local cops) were stealing drugs and using / selling them. But I could never tell from the news coverage if Chad was involved in that or if he was just a negligent supervisor.

It was clear that him being the Federal Agent they wanted his arse and the US Attorney came at him hard. I don't think the guy was in any way innocent but the only thing I saw discussed from the court case was him lying on a sworn affidavit involving a seized vehicle. Something about he signed it in one jurisdiction (Hammond area) but said he was in Houston when he signed it. That seemed like some trumped up BS to me.

Would be interested to hear what the podcast says.

My brother knows CS pretty well. When I asked him about CS several years ago my brother's response ... "dude was an idiot who thought he was invincible"

He was connected to the sheriff Daniel Edwards, the brother of governor John Bel Edwards.
I don’t know the exact details other than what was on the podcast, but it seems that Daniel Edwards should have been held accountable more than he was.

Yes, he’s always had an inflated ego. Went to high school with him.
