I get wanting to avoid lead in general. For deer specifically, does it perform as well in terms of expansion? I'm sure this depends a bit on the various tips you can have, but in general. I have read reviews but I feel like most reviews these days are fake.

They expand well enough to kill deer. Barnes TTSX has killed more deer than we can count, and the hammer bullets seem to be developing a following. If you’re using something super fast or super slow you may need to do a little research but that’s at the fringes. They’re going to tend to exit and bleed.

I use it on hogs, works well.
Uses Lehigh controlled chaos bullet.

Find the lightest bullet and it'll work great. I only use Barnes ttsx and LRX.

Barnes in 300 WSM is a unicorn to find, but I scored two boxes recently. I’ll buy 10 if I can.
Not lost anything I’ve shot with them….

I think Barnes is the gold standard for all copper, I’ve shot the TSX hollow points in my 7 mag for 15 years. Granted it’s overkill for whitetail I’ve had zero complaints

Barnes TTSX are the way to go. They expand and hold together. The blue tip on them are not a ballistic tip they just aid in expansion.

Yeah you can drop down a good 10-20 grains of bullet weight vs what you normally use in lead.

Has anyone tried this copper 300 blackout bullet by S&B?

LINK

They make them for other calibers and seems reasonably priced and is all copper.

This season I’ve been shooting a 6.5 Grendel using the Barnes vortex tac tx BT with excellent results. 110 pound doe and 165 pound buck. Both shots right behind the shoulder. Neither made of farther than 40 yards. Both passed through with nice expansion. Decent blood trail.

10/10 recommend
