This franchise needs to embrace Zion because we might get to keep him.

Let’s face it, if Zion becomes one of the best players in the NBA he’ll be gone, off to “greener pastures”. Look at CP3 and AD.

Yes Zion has flaws, yes he sucked against Memphis playing through flu like symptoms, yes I wish he’d get in better shape and shoot more.

But he’s a really good player, he’s averaging 20+, playing in most games, he’s a very good NBA player who does some things most guys can’t do and makes us a better team.

His flaws are why we may just be able to keep him around so we should embrace it and hope that as he matures as an NBA player he starts to work through his flaws.

I’d keep him over BI if I had to trade one of the two

I'm still fully on this train too.

Yes Zion has his issues, but you've seen what this team is capable of when he's healthy and playing his best. They were #1 in the West last year. The ceiling is limited with Ingram as a #1 though.

I still want to keep both, but if you're trading one, it still is Ingram to me. Haven't even brought up yet that Ingram will be wanting/getting his expensive extension soon.

That's the fricking problem right there. He shouldn't be a "very good" player. Dude has top player in the league talent and has wasted it. He should be in the MVP/All NBA discussion year in and year out, and right now he's not even Allstar level.

shite is fricking unacceptable.

The franchise has ran off the last two superstars. My guess is it will be three, eventually. But hey we are good with Willie & Gayle at the helm. Turnkey operation

If you honestly think Zion can lead a team on a deep playoff run then you’re not watching games.

Can someone tell me one all star that led his team to the finals that

1. Didn’t play any defense
2. Doesn’t run or sprint up and down the court
3. Doesn’t rebound despite being a PF/C. (I’ll accept guard that doesn’t pass)
4. Misses that many games
5. Generally isn’t trying that hard and doesn’t consistently give full effort on the court

I just want one name who fits that criteria who’s led his team to the finals. Doesn’t have to be a champion.

I can embrace the 27 ppg on 65% fg shooting Zion at any size imo

Not me cause its not his potential which leads to bad vibes in lockerroom and he's had an inability to stay healthy with heavier minutes at that shape too.

Unfortunately he's showing that he cannot do it consistently at his current size. And he's coasting on defense and on the boards as a result.

How in the hell do you know what the vibes in the locker room are and how he affects them?

That's a slap in the face to CP3 and AD. Those guys were all-nba players year in and year out.

Zion isn't going to make an all star team this year

I still think if we want to unlock Peak Zion BI has to go and we have to make this “Zions Team”

It’s no coincidence the best we’ve seen Zion was when the team was his while Ingram was out with injury and it unlocked a level we all knew he had, that’s the only way to get hik back to that level imo.

Man the dude just turned 23...still young enough to turn it around. I'm not ready to give up on the young man. Some people take longer to grow up.

I can agree with that AND say what he's doing currently is unacceptable

That's true but time is running out. People's jobs depend on him getting it together

He doesn’t do those hustle things because he’s out of shape. I’m hopeful that maybe he will improve on that as the season goes
