Think my favorite thing about this is Verge outing her as a racist on the record. Whoa.
Criticism of her was bad. Criticism of her by a white person was racism. Verge called her a "mad black woman."

I’m careful about this topic, because I do understand people of color get exposed to it more frequently than people like me (often in more meaningful ways).
Despite that acknowledgement — I find this new idea that only the racial majority can be racist to be equal parts disturbing and hilarious.
Power can change hands, it can be situational, it exists on a systems level but also exists in individual interactions (boss at work… bouncer at a bar).
So the amount of power a person has can fluctuate not only over the course of a lifetime but also just from one setting to the next.
Following the neoliberal (power-conditional) definition of racism, you could hypothetically take a cross-section of “prejudiced” individuals & just swap them back and forth between islands of different racial majorities…
In that scenario, who was racist vs who was not wouldn’t be determined by belief or worldview — only by which island they were on that day
Values are values. Seeing the world in black & white is seeing the world in black & white. Racism is racism. Nothing good comes from racism. It’s counterproductive to forward progress, and it always will be.
They actually teach this “minorities can’t be racist” crap at LSU… So I do appreciate this sentiment from Verge considering the climate.

For what it's worth, GG has responded with a column and true to form he is not letting it go. He all but declared victory for the plaintiff the other day and now is saying that it's not over. He basically called the jury racist and incapable of coming to a just verdict because they were in Baton Rouge. He really has it out for Scott Woodward. It's as if he is still upset that they didn't hire Billy Napier.
Someone needs to tell him that a clean sweep for the defense in a civil trial after minimal deliberations is an indication of frivoloty.

Someone needs to tell ESPN the same thing. Wild this world we live in.
The panel that made that unanimous decision was something like 5 women vs 3 men, judge was also a woman, and the one accusation of racism in the trial was made against the defendant by a prominent black man.
Weird how some outlets will hold their line to the end, as if the reporting were a political op-ed & not breaking news on an actual civil ruling…

He testified that she would declare any white person who disagreed with her to be racist. He also testified that she was most definitely not a victim of racism.

Does that now mean that all of Les' vacated wins from 2013-15 win now be reestablished as legitimate victories?

My biggest question in all of this--if that job was so "toxic" all those years, as she claims, then why the hell didn't she get out of it? I'll be goddammed if I work a job that makes me miserable for a week, let alone 15 years.
FTR: I’m pro-LSU in this, and I think these accusations get thrown around way too much. But your question, while a legitimate question, is not evidence that the toxic environment didn’t happen. For some reason, people sit in toxic situations for decades - jobs, marriages, partnerships, etc.
