What could we give up to get him? He has plenty of game winning shots

Can he coach?

Can Markkanen play Center or with Zion?
Plus he would be going from the 1st or 2nd option to the 4th here. I don't see how he would be that impactful other than helping spread the floor. Would it be that big of an upgrade from Val?
I don't get why people get enamored with shooting big men. It's one thing if it's an additional skill. But I want them to dominate down low and be a force there first. I said this about Davis for years. Now he has adjusted and kills people at the rim and the team thrives off of it..

Make a trade around BI then move Trey into the starting lineup.
CJ
Trey
Herb
Zion
LM
Bench: Jose, Dyson, JV, Hawkins, Naji
BI is good, but this would potentially be a better fit and he is cheaper if we can make it work as we have a log jam of G/Fs on the team.
Lauri could play with Zion or JV in lineups. He is a shooter also.

Trade Zions fat arse
He dosent play defense he dosent work hard unless he is the focus of the offense BI and zion cannot coexist well together
BI
Trey
Herb
Jonas
Lauri
Plus you can get picks for zion
Zion is not progressing he has a high upside without any drive.

I got no problem trading Zion.
He’s the problem right now, and if you don’t think he’s going to realize he needs to get his fat arse into shape and work on his game, something he’s yet to do in 5 years, then just cut bait now.

It was one of the easiest game winning shots I’ve ever seen. Just a clear path straight to the basket

I would, BI has shown he can take over, can he do it night after night? We keep saying Trey needs a bigger role and could be a big contract. This could free up the money.
We greatly gain rebounding and spacing, and may loose a dunk every 3 games.
sooner or later you need to roll the dice. We are not getting out money's worth out of Z.

I agree completely with trading Zion during this trade deadline. LeBron exposed him during the in season tournament as pretty much a one trick pony. He doesn’t play defense and has no jump shot. We better trade him before he gets further exposed in the playoffs.

No because we have Trey Murphy who is better. Markkanen is soft on D and all he does is shoot. Trey is developing an all around game and he’s just as long as Markkanen.

I don't see any similarities with TM. He's more like BI, but even then, different enough.

Would Utah do Zion for Lauri essentially straight up, plus whatever salaries are needed to match?
Because, if so, that’s pretty much a no brainer for the Pels
And to think, at one point, we could’ve probably traded an expiring Lonzo Ball for Lauri, lol.

I’m not sure what you are insinuating.
Am I insane to think Lauri is fair value for Zion?
Or am I insane to think that Utah would accept Zion for Lauri?
It’s a legitimate question that I have in terms of those 2 player’s trade values.
I’ve never done drugs a day in my life. I just prefer to look at trade values through a more realistic lense of both teams, not just one. I’m a fan of the Pelicans, but I am also a fan of being cerebral and not slanting/skewing trade values towards my favorite team. It’s not productive to look at potential trades through a biased lense.
