Mandeville and don't be a turd. If you know anything about the northshore, you know I'm right. Not bashing either area, just rural and takes a lot more time to get to the areas that have all the services and entertainment, etc.

lol just messing with you. I get it. It’s def further out. We looked at Beau chene/tcc but just didn’t see any huge reason to be closer to those areas. One of the reasons I like it out here is due to the fact it’s not as crowded as Mandeville. If we liked going to the city and mixing it up in Nola it might be different. But I’m not a big Nola fan. I like it out here bc you can get a morning hunt, then be on the golf course by 11am.

But you can probably count on one finger the amount of people move to “Money Hill” who actually work from home.

Money Hill to Mama D's is like 4.5 minutes bruh.

Seems all across the country, especially the last 5 years or so we’ve become highly pissed off at trees and forests. In Louisiana we are losing population yet every moderate to major town/city has showed rapid growth and generic subdivisions being built nonstop. Where the frick all the people coming from? There really isn’t major cities people are moving out of, I mean New Orleans and BR ain’t that damn big

Love Mama D’s, her lunch specials are damn near cheaper than fast food nowadays

quote:For now. With that road being built from hwy 36 to Bush there will be commercial zoning through there as well, I guarantee it. That whole area of St Tammany will be unrecognizable in a decade because a lot of the St Tammany Parish elected officials bought the land through there in the 80s and 90s and are cashing out. *cough* *cough* the Singletarys *cough*

More people will be moving out this way to get out of the hustle and bustle of Mandeville/Covington especially the traffic. It sounds weird but it’s true.

Yep. Especially when the warehouse development starts building between 434 and 59. Loves truck stop bought a huge chunk of property on the nw corner of la59 and 12 and are going to start building soon. They just opened a store in Nicholson MS as well.

Was there last weekend and it’s damn nice
It’s also in BFE, nearest town is Anita Springs
You are closer to Bogalusa than Covington

Abita springs proper is 12 minutes away. There’s also a Piggly Wiggly in Bush, not to mention the grocery store being put up by the 21 entrance. Also, we have a large group of 30-50 year olds who work in various industries. It’s not just retirees. I work in picayune so I go the back way and it takes me the same amount of time as it did from Madisonville. 20 minutes to Covington, 30 minutes to the lakefront. 40 minutes to Slidell, or work from home. Glad we got in when we did…..as a matter of fact it is kinda far out, I would rethink before moving out here. We are getting too crowded.
Oh lawd y’all done gone and pissed off Mr. Money Hill.

Are you traveling by helicopter! Just mapped it to make sure my memory wasn't that bad, its 15 miles, 24 minute drive from the clubhouse.
Anyway, nice out there, but it's out there. And does St. Tammany parish want/need any commercial development out that way, wouldn't that just drive more sprawl?

exactly
I routinely drive 30-40 mins to go out to eat or drink from where I live east of Hammond. Closest store is indeed a piggly wiggly and it suffices
the absolute best of both worlds is a nice quiet place to live and 30 miles insulation from genpop

Are you talking about that 4 lane road no one asked for or needs, but will be built anyway?

quote:Umm what? I live in Madisonville. 30 minutes in each direction is Slidell and Hammond. You saying there is nothing in Mandeville or Covington?
t's my issue with Madisonville... ton's of people live there but you have to travel 20-30 minutes each way to do anything.
