LSU currently has the 6th best class of SEC teams. That ain’t great by any stretch of the imagination.

Sssssooooo, #11 Ole Miss is a 4th tier school? Interesting! The other obvious flaws are 1) you try to flip prospects from positions needed on your own team 2) as usual, you are taking the recruiting services as gospel as to the best players...I don't, and what if Kelly and staff had them at camps later after a commit or reevaluated them. God, I really, really sorry for the inferiority complex that SOME supposed LSU fans have. You know what...we don't need a CFB playoff. Just let the recruiting services say who should win!

IF you believe the recruiting services evaluations. If you do you must have the delusional belief that Reliford is REALLY a low 4*? That's amazing! Oh, and for your stargazers, one little thing I've been meaning to ask. Have you ever wondered why two of the most important positions on a football field...placekicker and punter are NEVER rated above a 3*. Oh wait, it isn't like MOST games are decided by good or bad FG kicking. The services are correct...they don't matter at all. Just more EVIDENCE about how BOGUS recruiting services are in their evaluations!

Regular seasons of 9-3

Not in the top half of the SEC in recruiting

Abysmal special teams in year 1

Abysmal defense in year 2

Has 3 nfl first rounders on the 2023 team that is rewarded by playing against an unranked Wisconsin team in the Reliaquest Bowl

Is this what $100 million gets us? Yes.

You can name call; I can post facts.

Wow!!! First, I didn't realize that Brian Kelly got $100 million for 1 or 2 years. That is clearly what your post says. You address 2 years of the program (BTW, you don't mention that LSU won the West in his first year, but you LEAVE OUT FACTS don't you). Then you claim the $100 million price tag. That number is for 10 years, Einstein, not 1 or 2. Once again, if you believe the recruiting services rankings of players and thus their team rankings, then you don't believe in FACTS! Recruiting rankings are 100% SUBJECTIVE opinions, NOT facts!

Lsu was preseason #5 in 2023.

LSU underachieved in 2023.

Yet we still likely finish in the season around the top 10.

The defense didn't work out, but you lost a coach and a player for the season due to off-field medical issues. That doesn't excuse the results, but you can opine that they had an effect, and without just those two issues, maybe one loss this season is a win instead. The Ole Miss game was that close.

Ok I’ll play that game. Lsu was as close to 8-4 as they were to 10-2.

We beat Arkansas on a last second FG.

“The only head coach in college football at a public school making more than Kelly is Nick Saban, who makes close to $10 million. The big thing about Kelly's contract is that it's mostly guaranteed. Unless he is fired for cause, LSU will owe him at least $95 million over the life of the contract.”

Again, I post facts.

I've been in a "let things slide" mood lately but this is just low hanging fruit. Recruiting rankings are made with the NFL draft being the bar. When's the last time a kicker went top 2 rounds without extraordinary amounts of laughter being witnessed shortly thereafter? In the entire history of the NFL draft 13 kickers have been drafted in the first 2 rounds. An additional 16 in the 3rd. A position where the best in college are bums or not even mentioned in NFL circles. Positions that, if you asked players of all other positions, "are kickers football players", the resounding answer would be no. They don't deserve to be ranked above a 3 star based on the parameters recruiting sites, and evidently NFL organizations, have restricted them to. You want a 4 or 5* kicker, go find Chris Sailor's rankings. They're sure to be spot on. He's even got long snappers for your consumption.

Atkins never committed to A&M much less flipped. He has only been committed to LSU.

It just drives me crazy that the staff can’t seem to recruit top talent at DL and CB, positions where we’ve traditionally been very strong. If you can’t control the line of scrimmage and have at least 1 shut down CB, you can’t play good defense.

No you don't. Here have a read. Kelly's in the Top 10 but not #2 and Clemson, UGA and Ohio State who paid their HC more than Kelly in 2024 are public institutions.
