OMG! Can we wait until we see how the portal shakes out before we start stating Wins/Losses?

We play our toughest opponents at home. Bama and OU at Tiger Stadium under the lights will be fun!

LSU paid BK $20 million to go 9-3 in the regular season in 2022 & 2023. Better get used to it. We are stuck with him for another 2 or 3 years for sure.

Didn't he originally say that it would take him 3-4 years to make us a contender? Well next year is Year 3 and if we go 9-3 or worse, especially, if House is retained, there will be some grumbling for sure. If he keeps moving the goalposts, it won't sit well with the TAF fat cat donors. I do agree that we are stuck with him until at least 2025.

Vanderbilt at home is a win
Then 2/3 out of South Carolina/Florida/Arkansas

Hard to say because we don’t know what the new playoff format is yet. That said, if we go 10-2 with this schedule, I can’t imagine a format that would leave us out.

You do realize we replace those players right? This is the dumbest talking point. Unless you believe the players replacing them will sit in a circle they'll compensate for some of that 90%.

We know the exact playoff format.

6 highest ranked conference Champs + 6 next highest ranked teams.

Right and considering most conference champs should be top 12 anyway it'll probably just be top 12 most years.

A 2 loss team has never made the CFP

I hate how big events like the schedule reveal or CFP selection shows bring out the casuals. Nothing worse than a casual trying to act like they know ball

To start off, you have to take into account that the Pac-12 will no longer be a power 5 conference.

In 2024 you will have a Power 4 of:
SEC, B10, B12, and ACC

Starting in 2024, ALL 4 of the Power 4 conferences will be changing their Conference Championship bids to the two teams with the best conference record. This will prevent the possibility of those weird 4 or 5 loss teams making a championship and winning it to steal a playoff spot.

So the 6 highest ranked conference champions are GUARANTEED a playoff spot. Which means the Power 4 conferences are all but guaranteed 4 spots. Next we look at the new Group of 6. Historically, the highest ranked winners of these conferences fall outside of the top 12. Which means in all likely 2 of the top 12 highest ranked teams will be left out of the playoffs all together. This model ends up being more close to the division champ + wildcard system the NFL uses.

How the playoff rankings will end up looking on an average year.

First Round Bye
1) SEC Champ
2) B10 Champ
3) B12 Champ
4) ACC Champ

Plays First round in home stadium
5) G6 Champ
6) G6 Champ
7) #5 Team
8) #6 Team

No extra benefit
9) #7 Team
10) #8 Team
12) #9 Team
12) #10 Team

Matchups are:

Round 1 (R1)
R11) 5 v 12
R12) 6 v 11
R13) 7 v 10
R14) 8 v 9

Round 2 (R2)
R21) 1 v R14 winner
R22) 2 v R13 winner
R23) 3 v R12 winner
R24) 4 v R11 winner

Semi-final (R3)
R31) R21 winner v R24 winner
R32) R22 winner v R23 winner

Final
R31 winner v R32 winner

If house returns which is still a big if and we were to go 7-5 BK would be getting scorched as well as fat Scott.

Those kinds of results got Les Miles fired, but we're gonna pay BK 10 million/year and be happy with it?

Look how many downvotes me saying us going 7-5 got. We have some delusional arse fans that think this team will have ten wins every year with the talent of defense we have. I did call every W-L this season before the season even started. The writing is on the wall and it’s easy to read

There is absolutely no way in hell you predicted this season correctly. You might have got lucky and picked the wins and losses right but you sure as hell couldn't have predicted the offense and defense.

If you think Kelly just runs it back with house and makes no major changes on that side of the ball you’re an idiot.

You idiots saying 7-5 don’t know ball. Name the 5 losses.

Bama OU and Ole Miss are the only 3 teams I see as possible losses but two of the three are at home therefore a random road loss could happen but who? Florida is down. South Carolina is down. A&M likely won’t be amazing but it’s a tough place to play so maybe there

Regardless 7-5 is idiotic and you don’t know the landscape if you believe that

2025? How about 2028? WTF is LSU going to get $50 Million to give another retirement Powerball away to failing coaches?

Being a Tier 2 Program, LSU would need for there to be at least 6-8 other 2-loss teams, minimum, outside of the conference champions.

Out of the 2-loss teams, how many of them are Tier 1 programs? That will be a big factor, as well as what the annual narrative shift will be in order to get more Tier 1 programs into the final 12.
