The dude is putting up defensive ypp and EPA as good or better than the best Bama, Georgia, and Ohio State defenses of the last 20 years. At IOWA with IOWA talent. He just won the Broyles award and is already on of the highest paid DCs in the country. We are paying House $2m per year and he hasn't produced a defense half as good as Iowas worst in the last 5 years with 10x the talent.

It def makes sense if cbk is moving diaco to coach Lb's...hiring leonard to coach safeties is brilliant! Now all they need is a dl coach and a cb coach

Don’t agree we need NFL guy! Matt House! We need someone who actually “coaches” kids so they get better. NFL coaches are moving chess pieces and scheming with best players.

And if you were reading instead of listening, maybe then you could spell the name correctly.

Against lesser big10 talent.

Also, it would take years to implement his system. Iowa has run the same defense for going on 20 years, and all of their young players develop in that defense. It's almost exclusively zone-based and that requires time to learn and trust your teammates. He's not going to come to LSU and have anywhere similar to that level of defense, and his apex will take years of players in the programs to get there.

The Big 10 West was the worst offensive division in college football. When they played a decent team in Penn State, they gave up 31 points. Penn State is not a great offensive team, they are decent. They didn’t give up a ton of points to Michigan because Michigan has shown this year that once they get a lead they are perfectly fine with milking the clock and just squatting on the football.
LSU’s offense would put up 40 points or more on Iowa because the LSU defense would actually force a few punts against Iowa and not simply let them march up and down the field and keep Jayden Daniels on the bench like other teams did to LSU.

So many of our fans just come here bitching when they clearly are clueless. Leonherd was the DC at Wisconsin, but took over as interim HC. He wasn't retained with the new staff. That's common, and doesn't speak to him as a DC. LSU would be damn lucky to have him as DC. He would be a massive upgrade. Although, a trained monkey could probably do better than House did this year.

What we need to do is just hand Phil Parker 2.8 mil per year (double his current salary) and a 5 year deal.

While Kirk Ferentz has a background as an OL coach, he has a heavy hand in their defense. He played linebacker in college and has always been very involved in defensive game-planning and in-game adjustments.

**According to my neighbor, the Iowa grad and die-hard fan when I said Phil Parker is going to get a bigger job.

Woah, let's pump the brakes here

Andrew Hatch could put up 30 on this defense.

Cheese curds aren't fried. Fried cheese curds are fried. But sometimes the Yankees use the same term whether they are fried or not.

I'm married to an upper midwesterner, so I have no choice but to know about such things.

When I went to the LSU-Wisconsin game years back, every restaurant I went to, they were fried.

I actually liked them, I was kidding about that part, but I thought they were something unique. The ones I had, at multiple places in Wisconsin, were all just like fried cheese you can get anywhere.

It may be worth reading or knowing something about someone before you comment. This is why you got the downvotes.

He was REALLY REALLY good with Kentucky talent:

FIU (2015)
Defensive coordinator & linebackers coach
Kentucky (2016)
Inside linebackers coach & special teams coordinator
Kentucky (2017–2018)
Defensive coordinator & inside

With portal and NIL now more than ever we need a staff that can not only recruit well but also that is good at catering the defensive style to what we have year in and year out. Be able to adapt your style if you lose guys to the portal and miss on a few recruits and have one position that is clearly weaker. Then adapt to be able to hide that weakness best you can. Can’t continue to run what u run whether you have the horses or not. If DB is weak spot then play man with help over the top and find ways to pressure QB to get it out of their hand quicker so u don’t cover as long. If DL and pressure is not a consistent possibility and DB are strong then u adjust accordingly

The only time an upper Midwesterner will just call them curd when they are expecting fried curds is at a saloon. As they don't have fresh curd at the saloon.

And that bag of curd you have pictured isn't very good I'm guessing. They are best when still warm from the cheese factory in a ziploc bag on the counter at the gas station.

Unlike regular cheese, they do not age well at all.
