Don’t let one late night in Vegas distract you from where the Pels are about to be. I see a 7-1 run coming up on the schedule. Get to 20-12 and probably looking at the 5 spot in the standings. Should be well in the mix headed into the NYE game against the Lakers.

I'm in too. I see 8-0. We beat Cleveland. All the tough games are at home.

Then we’ll be right back at .500 after the next 9 games. Look at the schedule again

5 years later to the day and it still rings true

If they can avoid playing down to their opponents, they will have a good record by the end of the month.

Last night was legitimately encouraging. There was hustle and
smart play. The Lakers’ debacle is in my rear view mirror. There are winnable games coming up on the road. I’ve accepted the fact every season is going to be an up and down ride. Fasten seatbelts and take your anti-anxiety medication.

Given this team and that schedule, 7-1 is the minimum of what we should do. Anything less means we'd lose a game or more to really shitty teams.

But also, even if we go 7-1 do not fall into the trap that the Pels are for real and everything is figured out. It's a loooong season, and we need to see more sustained play before we're a legit team.

I love this team, but let’s be honest. How has that worked out for us over the last decade?

They've done it in spurts over the years. I'm hoping that there is a lot of new found motivation now based on their recent showing in the IST against the Lakers. That seems to have made them see how far they are and made them look at themselves in the mirror and created a chip on their shoulders.

I'm hoping that too.

We also hoped that and thought the team meeting turned things around, and 8 or so games later, we're back hoping for the next wake up call.

Maybe this was a wake up call, what reason do we have to believe it'll last more than 5-10 games before we go back to lack of effort?

I’m normally one to melt over 1 game and say I’m done with them, but I surprisingly wasn’t mad at the lakers game. It seemed like an anomaly. Went to last nights game and it was some of the best D I’ve seen the pels play. Towns was legitimately frustrated with all the traps and double teams. The schedule is the easiest it’s going to be in December but we always seem to drop games to teams we have no business losing to. Hopefully they keep up last nights effort and win the games they’re supposed to this month to set up for a brutal January

So, you are basically covering your bases on both sides so that you can bitch either way. Typical.

Are you arguing that we should NOT win 7 of the next 8 games?

We'll be favored in 7 of the next 8 games.

Again, if you want to discuss, let's do so directly, not in the vague terms where you don't make a single point or refute a single point like you've been doing today.

You can't tell me what I said that you even disagree with, you haven't done so for a single reply you've made to me today.

At wizards
At hornets
At spurs
Grizzlies
At cavs
Rockets
Grizzlies
Jazz

Not a single back to back during that stretch.

For me 6-2 is the bar for a successful run over the next 8.

It’s a very easy stretch, frankly 7-8 wins is what a healthy Pels team should do but 7-1 is tough against anyone. Cavs and rockets have a pulse and the Jazz have our number.

Yep

The more I think about it, the more I think some of the disagreements on this board are with those who don't realize it but don't think that highly of Zion or the Pels team or more to the point, not nearly as highly as others.

I think Zion is a top 5 talent. I thinks team is pretty darn close to a contender and has the pieces/assets to make moves to get there. I compare them as such, not to a meddling play in team, which is what we actually have been. I expect more, I think others are either content or just don't think we're THAT good so that is where a lot of the support for Zion or the team come out when there is clear and obvious struggles and/or not living up to expectations.

Up until last year, this team went four YEARS in between five game winning streaks. It's absolutely ridiculous to hold this team to a 7-1 floor over that stretch, I don't care how bad the schedule is.
