Apparently Jardiance spent $78 million for the ad with the obese lady dancing around and singing about her diabetes and some expensive medications she has to take because of it.

Something about all of this just seems off. Advertising this crap as if its some happy Old Navy commercial or something, instead of this country promoting healthy lifestyles and proper dieting, we promote some happy magic pill with all kinds of strings attached.

How would you advertise Jardience? “You fatties really need to lose weight, but you probably won’t, so we’ve got this Jardience for you slobs. Be sure to ask your doctor about it.”

The O-T is obsessed with the Jardiance fatty. I agree the celebrating of magic pills is a bit much.

The lyrics are bullshite.

“I have type 2 diabetes and I manage it well”

If you listen closely to the end of the jingle, one of the side effects is gangrene on your taint

I agree. It’s like “hey, your lifestyle is unhealthy as shite, but don’t make any changes and just take this pill and pretend everything is great as you continue down the path of self destruction”

80 million?

And it’s a horrible commercial.

I want to work on Madison Avenue.

I get a kick out of all the Fattys dancing behind her. Where did they find so many fat people as dancers? I really am amused at the one to her left who looks like Chris Farley doing his character who lives down by the river.

I don't understand the advertisement of, much less the huge volume, prescription medications period.

All the people targeted by these commercials do not have decision power over whether or not we buy the product. It makes zero sense.

I always wonder about the casting calls for that kind of role. “Auditions Tuesday for national commercial. Must be able to dance, learn choreography, and weigh at least 275.”
