If when they sign… if I were the saudis, I’d call the rest of the top 10 that hasn’t signed and say either come now with open arms or you will have to pay us to come.
Better to jump now. The guys who stay are going to look like clowns eventually. They’ll end up working for LIV for a tenth of what he could have made.

McIlroy, Scheffeler, hovland, Spieth, etc…disagree. Also look at the strokes gained of guys going to LiV and see that their game has fallen apart. LIV doesn’t have enough bullets in the gun to ruin the PGA..but they will e

Hovland has the same agent as Finau and Hatten AND all three are sponsored by PING.

I agree. Outside of Rahm most of these guys have fallen off a cliff or were never relevant to begin with.
I think ultimately there will be a mesh, but I certainly don’t and won’t miss any guys that went to LIV. Even whiny arse Rahm is annoying to watch, just a great golfer

So are we just ignoring the fact that Brooks won a major last year, and he and Mickelson finished T2 at the masters? Cam Smith was T4 at the US Open. Dechambeau was T4 at the PGA.
These are world class golfers leaving. If the PGA doesn’t wake up they will turn into the Korn Ferry tour plus Rory.

I miss several of the LIV guys. I watch a good bit of golf. I get to see them play golf 4 times a year now. It sucks.
Yes I understand that I could tune in and watch LIV and see them play but LIV is just not serious golf at this point. Hopefully it will be one day, but right now it’s a joke.
Rahm leaving has been the worst blow and I think it could lead to the floodgates opening.

…….and will still be a better product than LIV to watch.

Nobody said they weren’t world class…but the strokes gained information indicates a drop in form. [link=(Here’s)] https://datagolf.com/letzigs-latest/most-recent[/link] a breakdown discussing it. Also look at the top 10 in strokes gained and it’s almost all PGA guys. maybe they have the budget to keep buying everyone..but thus far it hasn’t attracted viewers either on tv or in person, so I’m still skeptical it will be viable without a merger.

There’s only 5 spots left unless they go to 14 teams.
Hard to do a shotgun start with 56 guys on 18 holes
Also it’s Hatton

Without a merger there is only one player that will make LIV part of main stream: Tiger
Tiger was able to get ESPN to buy into a shite simulator league

LIV will fail
LIV will fail if they don’t get good players
LIV will fail if they don’t get a TV deal
LIV will fail if they don’t get OWGR points
LIV will fail if the PGA merger goes through

I dunno, all the local charities around here don’t seem to have a problem getting 100 guys shotgun started on 18 holes where three legally blind 30+ handicaps and a 92 year old war vet shoot 51 and take everybody’s money.
I’m sure liv can figure something out.

LIV still is losing money hand over fist
LIV still has horrible ratings
LIV still isn’t viable without unlimited oil funds
LIV is the XFL with oil money behind it
It isn’t an opinion. LIV in any traditional funding or revenue operation would already have been cancelled. Once again, not an opinion

Their investors still like the value case given they’re putting more money in.

Wouldn't "investors" expect some kind of ROI?

Yes. They do and they will get it.

At this point they are at 20 years minimum seeing an ROI
Golf doesn’t make billions and billions of dollars which they have already spent and adding to it….
