He was 26-33 in the last 5 seasons and they gave him 18 overall to go 113-111. Kind of seems like he’d reached his peak.

I would imagine he’ll do well there and bring in some talent.

All he has to do is average and he can retire there, apparently.

Given the state of conference USA he'll probably be fine in the sense that he'll be able to string together a bunch of 7-8 wins seasons and hang around forever like Rick did but he's not going to take the program to another level.

Liberty is stacked and is committed financially to building something so they'll still run the show. Jacksonville State is committed to growing the program and they have a proven commodity in Rich Rod. Kill is a great coach if his health doesn't cause problems at NMSU. Kennesaw State could be a good program once they move up and get settled.

I can't really see a world a world where Mason is doing more than hanging around the middle of the conference.

The local high schools in Murfreesboro and Nashville have better facilities than MTSU… the program stagnated, but it wasn’t bc of stockstill imo. The investment is just not there to compete with its piers.

I understand the Mason hire, but I don’t think he’s a very good football coach…. We’ll see I guess.

Maybe Brentwood academy or Ensworth. public school wise, maybe ravenwood.

None of the mboro schools have better facilities than MTSU, though.

Oakland has a indoor practice space… pretty sure mtsu doesnt… tho they’ve broken ground on a new faculty, and stockstill contributed his own money to it.

MBA has a super nice complex… it’s been open for a couple yrs.

My cousin went to MTSU and he has been complaining about wanting a coaching change for years. I haven't talked to him about it yet but I am pretty sure this is not what he had in mind.

It was at the point where pre-Liberty he had email discussions with Hugh Freeze about his potential interest in the job were it to come open and forwarded them to administration. He never heard back from them.

No I'm dead serious this is a thing that actually happened. Hugh Freeze actually responded.

How many meltdowns has his name caused on this board as a potential SEC DC option?

It’s a 66M dollar project that has been in the works for 2.5 years-ish now. Its going to be excellent (not SEC, but very nice)

Oaklands facilities aren’t as nice by any means (imo) but forgot about MBA.

The private schools across America are going to have nicer facilities than some mid major programs. No surprise really.

I went to MTSU and everyone I know is excited. This is a good hire for MTSU by all counts.

Will see if he can perform.

Not at all. As I mentioned earlier, MTSU has a 66M dollar football facilities project underway. They are looking reinvigorate the alumni.

Attendance has been putrid and season ticket holders are virtually non existent.

I don’t understand the hate of this hire. It’s fricking MTSU.
