I gotta say this is when the cargo short dudes cash in their chips. We laugh at all the oversized pockets but when it comes time to hit the movie theatre those guys are strolling past the usher with a 7-11 in their pockets while the well dressed chumps are standing in line for 15 minutes to pay $7.99 for Junior Mints.
The well dressed guys are there with a woman carrying a purse. The cargo shorts guys can keep their silly pockets

I’ve never done drinks, but I do food all the time

Nothing overly complex but is there something wrong with taking food into a theater? I know they say "No Outside Food" but the speed limit on the road out front is merely a suggestion and that could cause someone to get hurt, me packing in a bag of M&Ms ain't nearly as dangerous.

Kind of related - My father came to visit us in Germany and while he was there he and I spent a long weekend in Munich and went to Dachau. Our hotel had a typical European breakfast consisting of cheese, cold cuts and various breads and rolls. It is customary for Europeans to make a sandwich to go when they stay in a hotel...and we did it almost every time for the near 7 years we lived in Europe. This one also had hard boiled eggs.
Dachau has a theater which shows a documentary about the camp every half hour or so. I have seen it several times with different people and it almost always involves some people in the audience sniffling and occasionally openly crying...it is deeply disturbing. During the movie I hear my Dad rustling around in his coat pocket and look over...and the redneck bastard is peeling a hard boiled egg and eating it while watching footage of dead bodies stacked like cordwood. When the movie ended and people were somberly exiting I saw that he had dropped most if not all of the egg shells at his feet. I metioned that cleaning it up might be in order, to which he loudly said "frick these German bastards, did you see what they did in that movie???". I couldn't really argue with his logic...although I am pretty certain the young Turkish lady who was left to clean up his mess was only cursorily responsible for the holocaust....

When I was a kid, one of our friends’ dad owned a company that had 4 of the gas stations in town.
Always a good time when Mr. Tom drove us. He’d stop at one of his stores and we’d load up yoohoos, slim jims, and candy to sneak in.
He wasn’t cheap, but he said it was a lot cheaper letting us raid his store shelves than paying the tab at the theater.

Nothing too adventurous for me, but I took a girl to see “Something’s Gotta Give” in college and this middle age couple in front of us pulled out McDonald cheeseburgers and a thermos of coffee.

What kind of piece of shite brings potato chips to a movie?
This thread shows how much the OT has changed. Bunch of trashy, broke, slobs with no respect for the theater owners and fellow patrons.

Hell, the last I went to firehouse it was as expensive as a theater!

That’s fricked up. Probably not something you should gloat about
It was 30ish years ago and the theater has been closed for about 25 years. I am pretty sure it was a dollar theater at the time. Doubt it contributed to the decay.

Growing up my friends mom would take us to the movies and she would put food from Wendy’s for all three of us in her purse

What’s the most absurd food or drink item you’ve gotten away with sneaking into a movie theater?
6 pack of beer

In college my roommate and I got a 12 pack of the little 8ozish beers, I wore my snowboard jacket with them all in the pockets. Told the ticket counter their theater was always cold.

Friends GF one time put a bag of popcorn under her shirt. Some how the bottom busted open and she was spilling popcorn all the way down the hallway into the theatre Tinseltown west Monroe late 90’s
I’ve personally snuck in candy, beer, cokes, popcorn, Burger King, sonic, and a few other places
