I'm having major discussions with the media involved with the AP poll and doing everything to get an agreement that if FSU wins their bowl game the AP Poll ranks them #1 regardless of the CFP. And then if FSU wins the bowl game claiming the National Title.
The Coaches Poll is tied to the CFP but the AP isn't.
USC got the AP NC in 2003. Michigan got the AP NC in 1997. No reason for FSU not to try.

Next year when conference champions are guaranteed a spot is when you actually have a playoff. Name one other sport where you can win your conference or division and can be left out of the playoff?

They need to sue the ACC to break the Grant of Rights deal because it's pretty clear being and undefeated ACC champ is meaningless. The GOR is a fraud

FSU got hosed. The committee did this to convince everyone a 12 team playoff is needed.
