Got an itch to play some far cry. Looking at maybe playing far cry 3 since I don’t remember it much from the first time. Also wondering if 6 is worth the $60

6 goes on sale pretty often, not sure what platform you’re on but it’s $20 on playstation right now
I personally wouldn’t pay 60 for it.

I see it’s on sale now with the expansion. IRC really I just want a good game and iirc 3 is the best?

$15 was a good price for 6 for me, when it came to Steam.

no. catch it on heavy discount.
if you got itch 3 or 4 would be my bets. or, if in mood for far cry but a little different, i personally enjoyed primal a lot even though it got a lot of hate.

3 is the Goat. Play it with mods this time, makes it more fun.

6 is on psplus if you have a playstation. You get some free ubisoft games.
Other than that its always pretty cheap. i think the ultimate edition was recently on sale for $20, comes with the season pass and all the expansions ect..

New avatar game is basically a reskinned farcry. That comes out in 2 days.

I quit playing most Ubisoft games for this reason.
Way too much and my completionist brain can't handle it.

I played through Far Cry 5 a few months ago and I was hooked! I got 6 for like $10 but I’ve yet to play it.

5 was a much better game than 6 imo.
Only things I didn't like about 5:
1. Being forced into boss interactions.
2. Getting randomly sniped by helicopters before I figured out you could just duck and they'd completely miss you.

3, 4 or 5 are all fine. 5 is my favorite. Redneck America fighting against not-David Koresh.
6 sucked. Quit playing.

I’ve played 1, 3, 5 and 6. 5 was by far my favorite. I beat it 3 times.
I thought 6 was good but I wouldn’t pay $60 for it

I've played 3, 4, 5 and 6. 5 was my favorite. It's a cool setting and story with good gunplay and combat. Getting kidnapped to advance the story is the only bad part.
Most people think 3 is the best, but I never finished. It's a good story, but it loses steam when you get to the main villain, who isn't compelling. I also played it after 4 and 5 and the combat did not feel nearly as smooth.
4 is very good and a close second to 5. Good setting and story, really great combat. If you didn't have to clear radio towers to unlock the map, it could challenge 5.
6 was a big disappointment. The story is pretty underwhelming and although there's a ton to do, it all feels repetitive. It's fine for the combat, although stealth kills were pretty inconsistent for me. Overall, it feels like a series of outposts without a narrative tie, and they just blend together.

Most reviews/opinions I've read think 3's villain is the best in the series. I am surprised this was your opinion.
I've only played primal and 3, so I personally don't have an opinion on it.

I'm trying not to heavy spoiler it, but I said the first vs the main villain.
I assume Vaas is who you're talking about.
SPOILER WARNING
Why I say what I do is you kill him halfway in. Then you get to Hoyt, the actual villain and he's really underwhelming in comparison to Vaas.
I like Joseph from 5 as a villain, but Vaas is great. My issue with 3 in general is Vaas is only there for half the story and when he's gone, the game is worse for it.
It's why I haven't finished. One you get beyond Vaas's storyline, it's just not nearly as compelling.

I played the "remaster" of 3 on the PS4, and it had some massive input lag. Felt like I was playing on PSNow or something.
Really negatively impacted my experience. That said, objectively 4 is probably better than 3. 4 is basically a palette swap of 3 with better visuals.
I really loved 5 though. I was shocked at how much I enjoyed the game given its setting. I honestly found 6 to basically be Far Cry 5 with a more traditional campaign bolted into it, so I'm not sure where the hate comes from outside of keeping some of the RPG mechanics from New Dawn (ie can't loot enemy guns).
