That's probably the main reason, but they have ran their oil and gas industry into the shitter. I'm not sure what they think as a nation is going to happen if they take this land over.
Venezuela has plenty of oil as it is.

i like how the media has widely been calling it a “border dispute”. it’s well over half the fricking country of Guyana.

How did that go last time for XOM/Venezuelan relations?

Not sure if Venezuela gives a frick, but they just got back on their feet. 10-20 cargos a month. Maybe they give it up to fight this bullshite.

South America is always in war with each other
Actually I would rate South America as a pretty peaceful part of the world in terms of inter nation conflict.
When was the last nation state war in South America that materially moved an international border? As Compared to Europe, Asia and Africa, the South America map looks pretty much as it did 120 years ago.

It’s just a political ploy. None of my friends in Guyana are worried.

True with a different administration. With the current cesspool not so much.

Venezuela is the ones voting and fighting. That is all I would worry about controlling.
Unless XOM trained up some militia. Doing LPSAs before the pulla trigger and shite.

i understand. just wasn’t clear who you were referring to in the previous post. it wasn’t Exxon’s assets that were seized by Venezuela, it was Conoco’s
